Tudor GMT S&G 41mm Questions

I would like any opinions on this watch. I've not seen it physically yet. The color combo is what attracts me as while I'm not ostentatious, preferring stainless steel, the Black on Gold is elegant IMO.
From a pricing perspective, it appears to offer great value coming in cheaper than a base 41mm OP (and 200m water resistance).

If this had to be compared to a modern or older Rolex which would it be ?

Is there a marked difference in finish, weight, movement between the Tudor and it's equivalent GMT Rolex ?

If anyone owns both brands I'd like some opinions on ownership experiences with Tudor.

First off...

If you think this is pretty much a CHNR (Root Beer), it's not.

The Tudor hasn't been as popular as they thought it would be IMO.. Why?

I think the yellow gold doesn't look as sharp as the rose on the Rolex.

The Tudor GMT's Achilles is certainly the height. It can wear top heavy at nearly 15mm tall.

Aside from that, it's a helluva watch for the money. I'm seeing like new watches from trusted sellers at around the 4k mark which is incredible considering the Au.

If you like it, but it. But if you think it will replace your thirst for a Rolex, it won't. Ask me how I know.

(OP, consider reposting in the Rolex sub forum. It will get more attention and that forum includes Tudor)

I have a Tudor Opaline GMT and a BLNR on jubilee. I love both but they are different for sure. The Tudor is “chunkier” at 41mm and thick, but the chamfered case edges draw me in. Rolex bracelets are head and shoulders above in comfort and finish;
No contest there. I like the subdued aluminum bezel on my Tudor, but when I want to show off a bit and want people to know I’m wearing a Rolex the ceramic bezel on the BLNR catches light across the room. The BLNR is my most complimented watch even though I maybe wear it once a week at most. I think they both have a place in the collection, but for $4k-ish the Tudor is one hell of a watch. I still think a Rolex GMT at retail is worth every dollar; at market pricing a little less-so.

I agree with the previous comment the Tudor won’t “scratch the itch” or replace a Rolex, but they are both super cool in their own ways.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I have a small wrist so a 41mm that is thick will probably preclude this as an idea. Comparing it directly to the Rolex counterpart, the Rolex still looks more classy and elegant. Value though - the Tudor trumps it.
