Rolex NXT sunglasses. What's the story?

I've seen them for come up for sale every know and then. They look to be very rare. I wanted to acquire a set, but this isn't a WTB post. I actually just want a little history. Were they AD gifts? Sports related?

Where and when did they originally come from?

They are really cool and Ive been looking for a pair for a while myself

I think they are awesome looking, and the rarity and exclusivity makes them even cooler.

I just cant find anything about them. I've only seen a small handful of pictures of them, ever.

I'm assuming they are from some type of sports event. One ad I saw said PGA tournament and one another one said Golf.

Im not sure how "rare" these sunglasses are, as eBay has lots and lots of them up for sale.

There isnt a single pair listed. There are several of the other styles, but the sport style glasses, the NXF lenses, seem to be rare to me.

I searched Rolex NXT on eBay and found nothing....

It’s a U.K. eBay listing but, for example, item number 315255959046 which are described as Rolex Limited Edition PGA Tour Sports Sunglasses NXT Lenses.
