Sport Watch & Workout
Anyone works out with their Sub & GMT? I was tempted to do so but was afraid of damaging the mechanism

If you have proper form and technique, not sure how working out would damage a watch.

No, and simply because I’d find it uncomfortable. Apple Watch is tool for the task there.
You do you, though. |

Literally wearing a sub at the gym writing this. I hop on here between sets. There’s a guy I see here sometimes that wears an old 1665 Sea-Dweller

Sometimes but I don't want to be banging it into a cable attachment or a plate.

I work out with my Pepsi and Daytona. Going 4 years strong with Pepsi and about a year on Daytona.

I don’t. Not because I’m concerned about damaging it, but because my Apple Watch is a better tool for bike riding and working out at the gym. Same reason why I use a screw driver instead of a hammer when screwing something in.

What kind of "workout"? Gym work? No need for a watch, skiing, bike riding, hiking, of course.

The Rolex won't sync with my app, so no. I also don't like the feeling of "stuff" on my wrists when working out, and my fitness watch pretty much feels like nothing.

For my comfort, I use a Casio Illuminator for exercise and/or outdoor activities.

I wear my 36mm Explorer to the gym for cardio etc but when I lift at home I don’t wear a watch.

On vacation, always but don’t lift hard. I just don’t remove my watch ever on vacation and leave it off my wrist is more the reason. I adjust my workouts accordingly.
At home I wrap my wrist to power lift so no watch ever in my home iron paradise. You won’t hurt your Rolex as I have done everything from, chainsaws to every kind of firearm (full auto tactical rifles to 50BMG, 44mag revolvers, etc…) There is more sudden impact to my wrist with a firearm recoil than anything I would do in a gym workout. Never a issue for a Rolex.

I would never wear a stainless steel watch to a gym. If you're wanting to do this, there is some deeper reason. But while you may feel it looks good - the reaction you get from others is likely going to be not what you envisioned.

Don't feel the need to show off anything at the gym (or anywhere), and I would be too paranoid about smacking it on a weight or something to be able to enjoy wearing it myself. I understand the concept of wearing a watch and not having it be a safe queen, but at the gym in particular, why risk it?

No, no need to “flex” while actually flexing. I also don’t want anything on my wrists when I’m doing any exercise other than jogging. Weights in the gym? No, never.

I wear my Rolex mountainbiking daily. My two OPs mostly but the BLRO some and occasionally the Daytona if just riding on pavement. I’m not doing it to flex, simply I bought them to use and they’re certainly rugged enough for the activity. I wear a smaller Garmin watch on my right wrist to track them on Strava.

Explorer 36 is my go to watch when working out. It’s super wearable and doesn’t get in the way.
Other watches move around too much, need to move along the wrist, or are uncomfortable say with push ups. |

ONLY if you wear sweat bands on each wrist, webbed workout gloves, and a red white and blue headband. Then you can wear you Rolex to impress everyone while you “workout”….

I used to work out with my Yachtmaster on, but I prefer having nothing on my wrist when I work out. I just don’t like the feeling, and I don’t want it to interfere with my range of motion. I don’t even like the feeling of a plastic Garmin or Apple Watch.

I do it all the time. I just won't wear PM models anymore because the weight acts as a slide hammer on my wrist if I move too fast.

I’ve never worn a watch or anything on my wrists when I work out, just can’t stand the feeling
Besides there are clocks everywhere around the gym. |

Rolex in the gym, running, or biking…..never. There’s better options for those activities IMO. Garmin, G-Shock, etc…

Not by choice but I have several times when on travel, as I don't take it off. When I'm on travel, I work out pretty light.
