They should take it out and let people wear it -- then they can call it used and sell it for $250K!

Yeah but ADs can’t sell above retail unless they call it “used”, which they can do if it’s an exhibition piece that has been in the case for 30+ days.

I’m hoping so too but with collectors willing to spend $380,000 for Jacob and Co watches at my AD it makes it tough.

I saw a side beside on Instagram of JM and Lemans side by side and it made the Lemans look huge. It’s the same size right?

The YG 11 series were the same case size as the SS. The new Daytonas (steel and this WG PM) are all the larger symmetric flat footed lug cases that were always used on WG and RG.

I think all PM had symmetric lugs, including Yellow Gold OF (mine does), but maybe this is about an older style?

Most 11 series did have the symmetrical case except for the YG models on the oyster bracelet. Those still had the same asymmetrical case as the steel models.

Not seeing it - so guess I’m confused. I see it obviously on the steel models.

That’s because yours is not on oyster bracelet.

No worries. It would take a flow chart to describe the Daytona case / bracelet combos before this year.

On the discontinued 1165xx Daytonas SS YG and TT all share the same asymmetrical, thin case, with curves and flush endlinks. All the full bracelets WG RG and Platona share the same symetrical, beefier case with larger crownguards and endlinks that are not flush. All the OF models share a similar case than full metal RG WG and PT.

Hi Ken ,

I’ll be pleased if you do ,I don’t think my AD is big enough ,But would love to be wrong , I really love it and don’t want to afford going grey to get it but I may have to

Do you think A PT Daytona ,A white 116500, Black 116500, Recently repurchased meteorite 116518 Daytona would get me a Le Mans . I have too many watches anyway ,

I really don’t know. Each AD different. Mine is a large one and gets strong allocations. He will get one watch so he has to decide who. My spend over the years between watches and diamonds is a large number. So I always end up at top
of list for hard to get watches. Can’t speak to any other AD’s outside of mine for last 25 years. Also my AD is the owner so I have never dealt with a sales associate. If you aren’t dealing directly with owner chances for hard to get watches much more difficult. Good luck!

Based on what you have been allocated, I think you’re at least on the dance floor.

Yeah it was at Lunns. Definitely for a VIP… you have to be spending some big money to get that type of piece. They were really open about it too.. which I understand.
