I love Ferraris. I like the new ones a lot, but the older ones even more!

Sigh, deep sigh. Not out of envy or want. It will become a showpiece, to expensive to be driven. It is a special car because of the designer and the very limited numbers in which it was hand produced. But I don't think it is overly beautiful (ducking for rotten tomatoes ). I think the Auburn Boattail Speedster is a more beautiful car. But that is just my not so humble opinion.
As I told you before some time ago, I have been to a track day during a company outing and have driven a Ferrari 360 Modena for a couple of rounds on the Assen racetrack. You get a briefing before you start, to explain how the car handles and what the differences are between this and your own sorry clunker when it comes to the power distribution, braking (a huge difference from a normal car!) and what to do if you spin off the track. Even the most nonchalant and car-uninterested of my colleagues turned into would-be F1 drivers after their laps They could not stop talking about the car and their laps. It is magic I tell you. There was something about this car that elevated the whole experience to a completely different level. The driver before you must shut down the engine before you get in. Why? Because of the thrill of starting it again to hear that beautiful roar of the engine while you rev it up. The most noticeable difference for me was the amount of power that was available even at the low end. And of course the bite of those brakes. Sigh. I have only the memories. But it was a hell of an experience
