It's still dragging along. No doubt the AD States it's great and they will move the indices and re-engrave the rehaut under warranty.

Good lord, close / lock this hideous thread! This watch is clearly a fake. OP is clearly trolling for info and seeing if it'll pass when he tries to sell it to someone on this forum or some other forum. I can't believe anyone is tolerating this....

In viewing the pics and reading the comments I believe this is a planned attempt at a con! Someone put some time and effort into trying to make this look like a real or genuine sub. This is intentional! Whether it is the "dealer" or the OP who is behind this remains to be seen.

What kind of info do you guys think he's trolling for? Fake dealers know their game better than all of you put together. The guy bought a watch, not from an AD but from someone who claimed he bought it from the Singapore AD, and provided paperwork thereto. He took it to a local AD in Moscow to have the bracelet sized, they did it and as it wasn't declared a fake, the OP surmised it was a gen. Whereupon he posted pics of his new acquisition, his first Rolex, on the Russian watch forum, and people hinted that something was wrong. So the guy did what any normal person would do - he found a forum dedicated to the brand and inquired there. Who's trolling?

Yes. And the only reason I posted is because it's disgusting how you people are making fun of a person who just can't speak Merican well enough. And who was so happy just yesterday and now is facing the harsh reality of having paid about $5K cash for what is 99% fake, a franken at best. What a difference a day makes.

Well, the card's printing is offset...but that's not all about the card. 888 is the code for Hong Kong, and your card is supposedly for Singapore. Somebody didn't do their homework, because IIRC Singapore's number is 430.
Then there's the watch itself. To repeat what's been said many times here...It's fake. You just MIGHT have a real box there if you're lucky.

So I looked at his "Panerai"
certainly no expert, but I've NEVER seen (nor can I find an image of) a watch that looks like his. 2 crowns? everything about it looks wrong. perhaps someone can set me straight if I'm mistaken but it looks highly suspect as well..
This thread is kinda like driving by a car accident. you know you SHOULDN'T look but damn if you cant help it! Quote:

the irony here is that the russian site helping him thinks its now more a unique one-off rarety model than a fake.
... they also don't have a Padi there so --- that threads gonna be open a while longer than this one. |

I'm with Neil on this one. I also question what negative benefit the OP would get from 'knowing if the watch would pass for a fake" ?. There is PLENTY of info online for anyone who cares to see the differences between an authentic and a fugazi. If the OP was looking for this info its readily available. The OP is not promoting the purchase of fake watches. I for one, find the thread informative AND amusing ....this is rarity ! At worst we are having a little fun, at best we may be helping someone out. Keep it open and lets see where this goes. |
