The same can be said of wearing a mechanical watch. I’m sure there’s an Apple Watch-rocking barista somewhere out there who would be absolutely mortified to learn that you are wearing a weird 19th century mechanical contraption on your wrist like some kind of an ignorant luddite.

How many in here can truly say they enjoy wearing a suit tie and fancy evening gowns unless the occation calls for it?

I for one is happy in my jeans tshirt and a flanell on top. Much more fun to shop that way. Then I truly know whois a genuine professional and who is still wet behind the ears.
Not everyone places such a high value on dressing like a slob. You do realize how a post like that makes you sound right?

Seriously, go back and read it. You come across as an insufferable clod.

Stupid statement with poor grammar. You should spend some time learning your audience. Amateur commentary.

Why even post in this thread if you don’t enjoy clothing… Just feel like being a downer?

Dropping by to say hello

Crazy busy times. Anyway, unseasonably cold in NYC so wearing an all-cashmere topcoat today with a coyote lining. Shoes by Gaziano & Girling.

Patek 3970J getting LOTS of wrist time!

Looking good, everyone!

Thanks a bunch and happy Easter to you and your little ones too! The fur collar is originally from a Billy Reid "Lafayette" coat from their heirloom collection (picture here):

http://badowers.tumblr.com/post/3246...ote-fur-collar

But the proportions were a bit off for me and my strange short, squat body so I had my tailor make a bespoke double-breasted coat in camel, but keep the distinctive things about the original Billy Reid design (the coyote collar is detachable, and there's slick alligator leather trim under the collar and under the pocket flaps). I quite like it, and once the weather does warm up a bit all I need to do is detach the collar and I have a more "Spring-appropriate" coat (although the cashmere tends to warm me up a bit).

Thanks! It does get a ton of wrist time. The downside of that is that I banged it against a door frame yesterday afternoon, so it now has a little ding on its lovely concave bezel. Nothing that can't be filled in or polished out on service time in any case. I think it adds a little character to my grail piece, and serves as a reminder for me to be more mindful and take care of it a bit more!

Here's me in a suit, at the Father Daughter Dance. If you look really hard you can see a touch of gold under my left sleeve. This may be one of 2 or 3 times all year I'm in a suit, so I figure I better share when I can.

(Disclosure: I'm 6' 165 lbs, but the suit makes me look 60 lbs heavier sitting in the chair. And yes, it is a picture of a picture.)

May I tell you you have a beautiful daughter? She totally has your smile!

Now let's hope she has your passion for gold as well!

Great pictures everybody!

Thank you very much. If I tell her she looks like Daddy, she says no and that she looks like Mommy, cause she's a girl. Also, I asked her if she wants Daddy's gold watch when he's done with and she said "No thanks, Daddy."

haha...cute. She may change her mind when she grows up a bit. Something dad wore for many years is priceless. Beautiful DD by the way.

...just a note from one proud dad to another.

Father and Daughter Dances are a highlight of being a father. The things we do for our little princesses. Just look at the smile on this little girl's face. My daughter was also smiling ear to ear in our picture.

Good job Dad!!

Pic from yesterday...
Not top notch. But wearing my 1984 16013 and Akubra Homburg lid made in Australia w/ Australian rabbit felt.
Tattoos covered by a Pierre Cardin shirt. Jeans by Levis. That's about as good as it gets since I left IT Account Exec world. That was suit, white shirt, tie, no tasseled shoes, and no facial hair. I love working from home ;)

I'm wearing that little kid's Datejust. He gets it after I croak.

If I was still working, it would be a worn pair of Levis, with a set of switch keys hooked to a belt loop. A "Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers" cap. Black work boots, a blue denim work shirt, (with or without a Berkshire Hathaway emblem) a pair of greasy leather gloves & my EXPLORER ll. Since I retired, not much has changed, but I don't wear the work boots anymore.

Here is a quick shot this morning. Nothing special today, I have lots to do and I will probably get dirty. If you want a dress shot you can check out the about us page on my website. I have since shaved (wife twisted my arm).
