Quantity or Quality?

Hey guys,

Need your expert opinion. I am currently contemplating of getting my grail in the form AP 15202 jumbo. Now I have a 15400 in blue, I love it nothing wrong with it but I just feel its a little on the big side for my smallish wrist. I have seen and fit the 15202 although not side by side my 15400. I think the size is perfect for me.

So the question is, should I pursue my goal of 15202 or just add another to spice up the collection? Rolex and JLC Reverso comes to mind. For the price of my 15400
plus additional cash to fund for the jumbo, I can acquire a brand new Sub or Hulk or JLC ultra thin. Hence, the title, more variety or go for quality?

Other watches:
PAM 176, TAG Aquaracer, IWC spitfire chrono

Cheers!

Go for the jumbo if this is your grail.
Definitely quality over quantity for me, especially given how versatile the jumbo is.

Personally I've found that compromising never gets you anywhere. Go for the grail. You will *always* come back to it.

That being said, I wouldn't have the 15202 as your only watch. I would have something else, maybe a SubC or Speedy Pro, for daily wear

If it works for you get it. It will show a lot of wear quickly, if it's your daily wear. I would have something that can take a bit of punishment also.

Thanks for the input guys!

Well for my daily, I can always go to my PAM or the basic Tag. My work environment is very casual. I don't use the 15400 to the office.

So far all responses point to the jumbo. I expected that too. Such a timeless classic. I saw the Reverso Rouge at the boutique and thought its such a cool watch.

Thank you

Quality over quantity always. That being said, that's not really the problem you're encountering... Rolex, the 15400, and any jlc reverso is the definition of quality. You want to know if you should sell all quality pieces for 1 grail? For that my answer would be no.

Quality trumps quality all day long for me. Whenever you settle it always costs you in the long run when you trade to get what you wanted in the first place.

Jumbo for sure, unless you were thinking full gold Rolex or Nautilus and then it would require serious thought.

Thanks for all the replies!

All responses are unanimous. Go for Glory. Go for Grail. Never settle for less.
And yes, Rolex and JLC are top quality pieces too, but for my dream SS watch, it has to be the AP 15202. Now time to do my homework and try to locate this bad boy. Local AD has no chance of bringing this in.

PS: The new thread started by benlee just made my decision alot easier!

Regards,

Edward

I would sell your 15400, Tag and IWC to fund for the 15202. Later, add a 114060 or 116610LN.

Usually quality over quantity for me, but I woudn't consider the Jumbo over 15400 in quality department. In your case, I would stay with 15400 plus a Rolex.
Get the Jumbo only if the 15400 is really too big for you.

how about switch the 15400 for a 15300 and pick up the LVc or JLC?

Hence, my dilemma. I love everything about it, its just that it doesn't sit perfect on my wrist. Most of the time it is sideways. I don't know if its just my wrist bone or really the fit. Does the boutique let you try the 1 1/2 links on your watch before actually buying it?

Thank you all for the response! Very good info and great suggestions.
No, I don't like going to 15300, its just either I stay with my 15400, add another watch or just sell it and get the Jumbo and stay out of this forum for a while

Edward
