My first Piaget

I lusted after the Altiplano Automatic ever since seeing pictures of it in print ads. Finally found one at local AD. Hei, hei, hei, guess I will be playing with this one for a while.

The 43mm case is quite large for the world's thinnest automatic and give it a more masculine look. Sapphire back shows the lovely movement.

Only short coming is the inconvenient old style buckle. I requested a folding deployment clasp, hopefully that will be available soon.

Yes, they are hard to find aren't they. I looked all over the net but nobody had them. So I had to wait for my local Piaget Boutique in Hong Kong.

Luckily I know the customer manager there for many years so she gave me a call when they got the first few pieces in. I am a happy camper.

Here's a wrist shot. It's looks rather large on my wrist.

Nope not from their Elements store which didn't have it. From their main boutique in Central.

I was motivated to take better pictures because today I picked up my second Piaget. The 50th Anniversary limited edition of the Altiplano Automatic. It has a cleaner dial without the second hand sub register. Beautiful! The self winding rotor is in platinum instead of the rose gold on the regular version.

Hope you like the pictures.
