Kermit serial number

The Kermit has been a favorite of mine since I held it in my hand at my local authorized dealer when it came out - but didn't buy it :(

I might pull the trigger on a vintage Mark I model but they are still quite expensive. There seems to be quite a few MkI's arround that are not all originals eg. where MkI dial and bezel has been put on a non-Kermit case.

About the case, according to all the Kermit articles I have read, and there are quite a few out there, the last Mk1 serials ends at F54xxxx. But is that a true FACT or could a watch with a F55xxxx or F56xxxx serial also be an original MkI case?
