Navitimer b01 43mm --- what's a good price?

So the topic says it all....what sort of discount would you guys expect on a stainless/leather 43mm navi01??? Retail 8250. I have a hard time as I know it won't retain anywhere near the value of a Rolex but it's always been on my bucket list. And frankly I've turned down too many great deals in the past...... New Monaco for 2300, new monbrilliant for 2600, preloved gmt2 for 4500..... Don't ask why just always a bad time....anywho.....what can I expect?

Just keep your eye out. I would want at minimum 30% off

Sounds about right, especially with the 46mm out there now. Take it from me, someone who bought a new B01 Chronomat 44 limited and got only 15% off, and then sold it for a huge loss, buy preowned and you'll be happy. There are enough out there if you're patient.

About two months ago I bought a navi 01 on bracelet, brand new from AD for $4,850... I got really lucky with this, I doubt it will be easy to find that kind of a discount, but that said I wouldn't touch the watch for less than 30% off given the ridiculous hit they take.

I ran across new old stock of the LE version of B01. I rarely see those used, so I jumped on if for around 25% off. The 46mm was too big for me and I really loved the LE for it's limited number and clear case back. The Navi is my favorite Breitling. You'll love it. Look fwd to the incoming pics. :)

The B01 is a fine watch, but nobody cares about it, so expect preowned pieces to be 50% off...which is an ok buy at that point.

I must be missing something.
Are we talking about the Navitimer 01? The new movement, 5 year warranty?
Nobody cares about it?
OP for one.
Me for two.
How do you make such a broad statement encompassing everyone with "nobody"?
Guess Breitling made them for OP and me exclusively.

True...nobody was a little too broad. Most people don't care about them...as evidenced by their abysmal resale value. The retail msrp is far too high and subsequently they have to be discounted heavily to be sold, which in turn makes their value retention truly terrible...

Try to sell one or trade one to a dealer....You'll get a bunch of "Meh's" and "those are so hard to move...idk...not really interested".....

Nothing against the watch, I'll prolly get a 46mm version one day, but my advice is not to pay more than 50% of retail....

If op is concerned abt price and value retention, don't buy a breitling watch new.

Wow! 50% off retail for BNIB? Please provide your source, as I've never seen that deep of a discount on a new Navi 01.

I actually stumbled upon it and it wasn't quite an ordinary deal. I was browsing craigslist and happened to see an 01 bnib with pics for sale very close to where I live for $6400, but I figured it's a scam (it's always a scam). Then I saw the same watch on eBay with a starting bid of $5400 and I watched it but nobody bid, so I sent the guy a PM asking him to call me if he wants to sell for cash. I still assumed at this point it was a scam, but on the off chance it wasn't, I figured he was going to pay $500 in seller fees on eBay, which would have netted him $4900. He called me, we talked, turned out he's an old TRF guy and is the owner of a Rolex and breitling AD and had bought the watch directly from breitling when they were offering ADs 50% off to buy for their own use and he decided to buy it and try to make a few bucks on it. I was still skeptical, but I vetted him and he in fact was a TRF guy, did own an AD, and he agreed to sell me the watch bnib, full stickers and warranty for $4850 cash. I met him at his AD, he was a complete gentleman (as was his reputation on the forum), he sold me the watch, and we talked watches for a while and I left very happy.

Sorry for the long story, but here's a pic to make it worth your while:
