Sub Clasp issue, maybe?

Just got this 5 digit sub and noticed the clasp hangs open as seen in the photos, but is fine when on the wrist. Is this normal and if not, how does one fix this? Thanks.

Hi, I've never owned a 5 digit sub but it does look like the divers extension is open and causing the issue you mention.

Is that a 93150 or 93250 bracelet?

that diver’s extension is definitely for a 93150.
it should be “friction / tension fit” and “snap” back into itself, but they’re known to get loose.

you can try to either flatten or curve the blade so it fits more snug into the pin side of the extension…

That's the diving extension, should just click back into place with a little pressure.

1991 would have a 93150 which wouldn’t have the locking link for the extension that was introduced with the 93250.

93150. Perfectly normal, better get used to it.

I have seen them stay clipped in position, the actual problem is wear on the pin that holds the fliplock in position.

They all the same after a few years of use.

Your clasp is perfectly normal, dazooom! No worries. See below the clasp for my 1996 14060 Submariner for comparison. And your diving extension is closed, as mine is. That´s just how things looked back then, with the old 93150 bracelet. Cheers!

Can you simply replace that pin?

If it really bothers you that much, you might want to look into purchasing a 93250 clasp with the locking link if it’s possible to bolt on to your existing 93150.

All normal there

There is nothing wrong with the pin, it does not do anything but hold it together and does not snap into or hold the extension in the clasp in any fashion,.

Your clasp is normal for a 93150. When worn it all fits together as designed.

Im having issues with a missing diver extension on a 93250.
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=944085
Thank you EagleBear for your knowledge!!! :-)

Does anyone know if you can use the older 93150 diver extension with the 93250 clasp?

The holes on the claps are in slightly different positions.

93250...

93150...

The holes on the 93150 are all in line. The two sets of 4 holes on the 93250 clasps are on different lines.

93150 parts are so much easier to find.

I reached out to Rolliworks, they said they could fix it for $100, which is billed as 1 hour of shop time.

I am sure that they will "fix" it for you for a price. However, there is nothing wrong or broken with your clasp.
