16014 Back from service...

I just picked up my '84 16014 from a full service - I love the acrylic on this one. Now to wear it or put it in the safe?? ;)

IMHO the 116233 csj - is the optomy of the Classic Rolex, with the full Jubile Bracelet. Tho the 11623 (earlier model) is well worth consideration, just because...of cost.!
The 116233 CSJ with full Jubilee Bracelet, for my 'Dress watch'. is what I'm looking for...!

Just brought a 1980s TT DateJust 16013... as gift for my daughter...

I would like to print out some information on how to care for the watch
how best to set the time and date and how long is the rest period
and include the details for her to keep...

Please can someone offer me this information in simple language
that she will understand.

(BTW I know what to do... but telling her ... and she is mostly likely to forget)

Just placed a TT DJ 2 with Green Roman Numerals on layaway. All in all a great looking watch.

This is my new little friend. Received yesterday for my 50th, from my MUCH better half. I love it but am still reconciling that this could have been a LOT of power tools.

Maybe your wife is telling you that she wants you to spend more TIME with her and less with your power tools!!

Wondering what the light green pad that was on top of the Rolex hard box, inside the cardboard box is there for?

Wow, gorgeous. Are they both 36's? The SS smooth bezel one looks bigger than than the SS/YG...

I'm about to buy a 36 with silver dial and jubilee. My favorite combo!

My dad had an original datejust..and it was his moment of solace when he would just
watch the hands sweep--with precision- and this would bring some sense and balance
back into his day...

It is funny to read this. I recently acquired my Submariner and there are times during the day (when I am wearing it) that I will stare at the sweep second hand and marvel as time seems to pass seamlessly. Glad to hear I am not the only one. Then I realize that I have work to do and move on.

My only debate in whether or not to buy the Datejust II is that the second hand doesn't have a lume dot like the Submariner/GMT II. At lights out, I like to watch the second hand sweep around the dial. I agree that it restores a sense of balance and calm into the day, which I find relaxing. Don't think I've ever seen anyone point that out before. Neat.

I want to buy a DJ with stick type dial but cant decide which to go for, I definitely want a stick dial but cant decide between Blue, the black or the gold face, I also cant decide between the two tone and the stainless steel straps...which is the nicest...so hard to say...
Knowing which might hold its value better might help me decide...
I have seen the DJII but I much dont like the wider hour markers, I want stick type hour markers but the ones on the DJII I have seen look a bit big compared to the more elegant stick markers on the DJ...
I presume a DJII would hold its value better as its a new model but do they cost a vast amount more than a normal DJ ?
I keep looking at a SS datejust with smooth bezel and blue or black stick dial but I cant decide... they are both about £2000 and I wont get chance to see one in the flesh as I only have access to mail order ones and we dont have a Rolex dealer near us... They seem a low price though at about £2000 used for SS or TT with Blue or Black stick dial... I was wondering how much they are new as well (the DJ and the DJII) I have searched for ages on the net but cant find any info on new prices here in the UK...
I might even treat myself to a new one if I can decide which is going to be the best bet long term.
