Arrested in Toronto!!!!!

This guy was just arrested in Toronto, using the same tactics (swapping envelopes of cash with paper clippings) as a couple of scams posted here by members.
It doesn't say what he stole, but his methods are the same!!

Been waiting for the update on this Romanian bastard... it's up on all the Canadian enthusiast and dealer groups. He's been around swindling for years!

Too bad he won't rot in the slammer... the Canadian judicial system is an absolute joke

is this the same POS who's been pulling this money-envelope switcheroo stunt all over the US?

I’m curious how this envelope swap happens without being noticed. Once I count the cash it goes in my pocket.

When I saw your thread title I figured it was going to be about the gold heist at Pearson airport

That's why I posted it. But it doesn't seem like it got enough traction. Hopefully some of the victims who came on here can still see this post and act accordingly!!

The trick is the "envelope". You count the money and put it back in the envelope. A few seconds later they speaks to you with something, asks something like "let me look again, maybe I left something there" or sg like that and during this, they replaces the envelope in a second.

In the meantime, you think you've been keeping your eye on it the whole time, but not. So you can even open it for a moment, you still see the money inside - and when you open it at home, you notice that there are no longer hundred-dollar bills inside, but one-dollar bills.

For example, like this.
