It's a sign from God.

Given that the demand is less than Patek or AP, is a discount achievable and if so, what is realistically achievable on a Overseas Chrono (blue).

Thanks.

I work just around the corner from there and on Friday the construction barriers were still up.

I've also tried to get a discount in Singapore and the AD in crown recently, no dice. However the blue dial date only is readily available at 15% or more discount on chrono24, surely that's the way to go?

Anyway - I'm toying with the idea of selling my GMT and putting the funds towards the blue dial date only and having that as a daily on the rubber to compliment my ROC. How does a VCO go as a daily in terms of scratches, robustness etc?

The Overseas is designed to be a daily wearer; so no issues with robustness but probably less than a Rolex. Of course, it is still an expensive watch. I would be treating it nicely. It is not a scratch magnet.

As for price, once you factor in GST etc from getting one overseas (pun intended), the blue dial is, at best, only $1000-$2000 cheaper than getting it from the boutique. Though none of the lowest prices have it in stock. Just a generic photo:

I've not owned one so can't comment. But Overseas > GMT. No brainer IMO. If we're talking class, looks, holy trinity etc.

Chrono24 shows around 10 to 15 percent cheaper than the website price for new 2019 chrono models. I'm gonna hit up the boutique when it opens and see how I go. Maybe time the purchase with travel and get it duty free? There is comfort in buying directly from a brand owned boutique. I hope we get an AP or Patek soon.

Back to the Overseas. Those perpetual calendars looks great. Only in PM though, not to my liking. Would jump on a SS version. Actually they should make a ceramic version.. Piggyback on the AP hype.

A discount on the Chrono is possible from an AD and highly unlikely from a boutique. Less chance to get one on the blue because it is the most popular color.

I was near the boutique on Friday and coincidentally walked past.
Turns out it was opening day! Walked in randomly. It was a nice little boutique with a very friendly team. As another sign from God, the exact model (and the only model with the blue dial that they had in stock) was available on the day.

So I did what I had to do.

Early impressions: The watch is beautiful. It looks stunning and is well finished, with a lot of attention to detail. Well designed overall and a good size (for a larger wrist), with many clever features that are lacking with AP and PP. The blue dial is absolutely stunning and shifts from a lighter, metallic looking blue to a deeper dark blue depending on the lighting. There is a certain charm about VC that you understand when you see the watch in person. I'm pretty chuffed to own watches from the entire Big Three/Holy Trinity now.

Chuffed is Australian for happy and satisfied is probably the easiest way to put it :)

And yes, it's a beautiful watch. I need to get to that boutique the next time I'm in the office

I like that dial design.

Patrimony is less boring than Calatrava.

No discount on RRP. Didn't see one, but they can probably get it in.

I did and they are fantastic watches I didn’t get to see the blue dial, but the SA told me it would be 6 weeks to have one in. I’m pondering my next move ...

I own the reverse panda Chrono and absolutely love the watch although I realize it’s not the blue one. Excellent craftsmanship.

I really like the VC chrono but the white background on the date window annoys me.

This watch in 39 or 40mm would be my grail. Perfect watch but at 43mm it is too wide, thick and heavy for my skinny wrist.
