Uh oh. We need a ruling from the judges. Beautiful watch, but it's missing the essential element to be posted on this thread - the date.
Well, judges, do we let it stay or do we move it somewhere else?

December 5th.
Pardon the dust on the bezel and crystal. The Santa Ana winds are kicking things up out here today.

Hmmm....., to start with, the minute hand on an authentic Yacht-Master is noticably wider than the hour hand, like this one:

http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...529#post154529 As I noted, the bracelet has the dive extension, never offered on a YM... the dial also has more of a cream caste to it than the pure platinum colour. The minute markers also look suspect. The minute hand looks neither wide nor long enough and then there's the cyclops. Sorry but this one looks like it came off one of those spam emails we all get. |

Thanks, Charles and Ed! I really love the watch, but these past few weeks I haven't worn it nearly as often, what with short days in the office, various holidays, etc.
This thread inspired me to haul the watch out for the photo. Next week, I have Mon. and Tues. off so I won't really wear the watch 'til Wednesday. I am tempted to bring out the watch for the New Year's photo for this thread, though. |

I concur with the others' opinions, Langnam, when I say that is an exquisite watch!
I literally said "Oh my god!" out loud when I saw it. One question: I know what each of the dials and hands is for except the small one surrounding July that goes from 1 to 4. Is that power reserve? |

Scooby and Montecristo,
You're both correct. The subdial on the lower right hand side is the leap year indicator. It moves a click counter clockwise on the first of every month. I'll try and post photos in the New Year, but I'm no Comatox! The Perpetual is practically my daily wearer during the work week and was bought brand new from an AD two years ago. I also own a RG/SD Lange1 that I'll wear to the office once in a while. I like to wear the L1 out during some evening function, as imo it's very elegant. I'm glad you folks enjoyed the watch. |

Nah, it takes about an hour to line up perfectly and as that's going on, so is the day change. |
