Finally joined the AP Family

Big day for me yesterday.

After a lot of thinking and a lot of cold feet during the years I finally decided to join the AP family.

Went with the 38mm chrono with grey dial, I traded my rose gold Daytona black dial on OF for it and so far I can only say it was a great decision.

The dial has so much depth and contrast to it despite being a monotone watch, I honestly never expected that.

Maybe for some people is a little bit on the smaller side on my wrist, and while I don't necessarily disagree with it, I do tend to like smaller watches better, but look at the pictures and you can be the judge of that.

So far everything that I was expecting from reading every possible review on APs is there, the quality and finishing is next level, th watch doesn't have a single thing out of place and I can almost feel the craftsmanship behind it.

Funny story, I did not tell my girlfriend (who's not at all into watches) that I bought the watch as I wanted to see how long it would have taken her to spot it, I was 100% sure it would have been at least a week, well 2 minutes later she's like , WHAAAT WHY YOU HAVE AN AP ON??? she said that the light reflection was impossible to miss and she's so right.

Anyway, enough talking, here's some wrist shots and if any AP veteran has some useful tips and tricks on the watch etc please feel free to share !

Congratulations!

No more screw-down pushers. Did you get this at AP AD?

I knowwwww ahah now I can finally time things exactly when I have to time them instead of waiting 5 extra seconds to unscrew the pushers.

Didn't get this from AD as I wanted to trade my Daytona for it, but dealer is a very trusted source and the watch has been worn but like 3 times maybe, so not a single visible scratch to be seen

Looks great on your wrist. I have the 41 mm and I am dreaming for the jumbo one day!

Which dial color do you have? I have to be honest, people say the 41mm looks better on my wrist , I still haven't made up my mind on that however, sometimes I like it sometimes I don't.

Jumbo I never really liked it tbh, I hate the fact that doesn't have the second hand and I much prefer the grand tapiserie pattern compared to the petit one

Congrats and welcome to the family!!

Sizing is all personal preference - some people prefer slimmer and smaller watches, some prefer larger. If you enjoy it, that’s what’s most important! Plus you can always add other pieces in different sizes later on (this is a dangerous hobby )

Thank you all guys !
This watch is just insane, I’ve spent a good 30 minutes sitting on the couch just looking at this thing, had to force myself to stop and put it down, but I think I’m gonna go back and look at it a little more

Congrats. I think the size looks great on your wrist. Looks like the 41 would likely fit well as well, so perhaps you could not make the wrong decision.

I think that size looks great on your wrist. But I would also that I'm in the small(er) watch camp.

Congrats! While I’m sure you could pull off a 41mm ROC, I think it looks great on your wrist. Enjoy.

38mm Chrono is one of the best in the lineup

well proportioned and a true heir to the original RO in this way (bracelet, bezel in particular)

Thank you all for welcoming to the AP family!

day 3
I lost all all interests in wearing my Pepsi GMT which is something I loved dearly for 3 years now, I do not want to get this thing off of my wrist, it's just too damn pretty.

And hear me out, I know some of you are going to cringe BUT, I'm using the chrono as GMT, and here's how I do it, I live in Europe but do a lot of work in LA, and west coast in general, so I started the crono at 9pm my time which is noon in LA and now the 24h dial is telling me the LA time.

Might not be the greatest thing for the movement however with the vertical clutch there shouldn't be additional wear and tear on it(at least that's what they say) . I don't plan on running that 365 days a year , maybe... but all things considered I'm so glad I gave up my Daytona for this, the date and this GMT trick literally made it THE perfect watch (Minus the hacking seconds and 40h power reserve)

Looks awesome and great size. A buddy has this same piece and you are correct it is mesmerizing! I have the rose gold variant of your watch but it doesn't sparkle like the steel :)
