OF Daytona on a Leather Strap?

There are a few OF Daytona references I find very tempting, but I'm not 100% convinced that I would want to wear one on the Oysterflex strap -- at least not all of the time.

Does anyone here wear an OF Daytona on a leather strap? If so, a few photos and/or opinions on the subject would be appreciated.

Thanks!

If you search for threads started by me, you can find some. Both mine are on leather now.

Custom strapmaker Aaron Bespoke has a personal Daytona on OF he has made many straps for from a variety of materials. I would go that route, he can make a leather strap the exact size as your OF halves so you can use your OEM clasp.
Look at the gallery on his website.

My Daytona came on a leather strap before OF and it made it very classy, for me almost too classy with a sporty ceramic bezel so ideal would be with RG or YG stitching, think that would be the perfect balance, only seen one pic with RG stitching but it looked ace. I would get a custom with stitching now.

Just checked out the Bespoke website referenced above. You can actually choose your own stitching for the straps you want. Very tempting...

Indeed Larry, I've spoken to strapmakers and stitching is no problem for them, if I were to get the YG Daytona I would want a leather with YG stitching as well as the OF, time we started turning our one dimensional Rolexes into multi look Omegas and PAMs and get value for our money!

Leather changes

The GM at Rolex Boutique Tourneau International Market Place Waikiki showed me his leather strap on his WG Daytona. I found it to be stunning and even more importantly I find the OF strap feels like a car tire to the touch.

I loved it so much I ordered a backup replacement.

Great looking strap on that watch. Very tempting. I have a guy who made custom leather straps for my older Daytona’s with PM bezels. Maybe have him make one for my “ghost”.

OF doesn't wear well on me for whatever reason (probably the shape of my wrist area) and I prefer the look of leather, so I found an OEM leather Rolex strap set and notched and sealed the cuts to fit the existing clasp for my TT Daytona. I like the contrast of the TT, how the caramel color of the strap ties to the gold, and the comfort of the leather.

This is lovley. I really want one for mine I find the OF unwearable.

I definitely agree the Daytona on a leather strap is a step up.

Thanks for the replies!

I never realized that it's possible to put the original clasp on the leather band. That is definitely a plus, especially now that the OF Daytona comes equipped with the Glidelock system.

More importantly, the Daytona looks AWESOME on leather! I'm actually surprised that more people don't opt for this set-up. I did, though, find out yesterday that Paul Newman liked to wear his Daytona on a black leather strap; one can find photos on the Internet.

I haven't ever tried on a watch with an OF band, so I don't have an opinion about the wearablity, but it's good to see that there are other options.
