Date Change
I explained this with my 2017 Explorer II Question. I damaged a gear by rotating the date backwards CCW requiring complete service/repair. I was told by the Rolex tech that this should never be done with the newer Rolexes and to always advance the date when changing. However with older Rolexes such as yours, the date change could be done in either direction without damage.
I had a 1985 GMT II and was able to change date in either direction with no problems. |
