5070G is probably the most readable with its beautiful black hands and numbers, it came down to the wire on deciding between them for me. Really was a decision of practicality for me going with the 5170, as you know, they are so very different watches while at the same time sharing so much in common.

Waiting on Tan oem and experimenting in the meantime.

The light browns make it a bit more sporty and suited as a daily wear IMHO, what do you all think?

Ps both straps are 20mm (need 21mm) just trying these on for color.

Love the rustic brown strap. But look, Gus, it is nearly time to think about taking tax losses on stocks and so forth, and you are probably getting tired of your admittedly exquisite 5170G. So you can sell it to me at a loss, and we both make out. You get a tax write-off and I get my grail.

Nota Bene: I am not a tax advisor and none of my statements are to be interpreted as valid tax advice.

It's a stunner Gus. My 5070 is the rose gold- my dads so will never part with it. But I think this one is as good if not has the edge.
The 5070 is a big watch and stands out on the wrist a lot. I have 7 inch wrists and it's got massive wrist presence.
I think this one is a bit more subtle; dare I say it better!

The 5070R is Dads so yes it's a keeper
gorgeous and so unique, it will be appreciated for years as one of Pateks all stars

The daily wear I was looking for seemed suited to the 5170g both the size and movement updates were a big consideration.

Can't get much better than that!

By the way, definitely experiment with some brown and tan straps, it's worked well with my 1815 chrono, really makes it more casual
