Rolex G series

Is that any Rolex experts or fans here can tell the history or even something about Rolex G series? for example, G123456. Thanks!

Rolex have quite a few running at the moment,V,G,M,plus the random 2 letter plus numbers, but they are all just case stamps all stamped sometime in 2010.

If the serial is G123456(for example), is that mean a new or old watch?

There has also been reports of random s/n that only have 1 letter with 7 numbers. G & M s/n's follow the V series... but I do not know if G is first, or if M is first. Like Padi said... V,G,M are all being used at the moment. My V series is a V9xxxxx - which indicates that the V series is on its way out. I've seen a V98xxxx on this forum.

The story is like this, I asked for a Exp2 V serial, but the salelady(quite hottest) show me a G serial and also told me that's a newest serial, so I want to confirm what she said.

Newest current s/n's would include G, M and the random s/n.

G series and M series s/n's will look like this:

G123456
M123456

The random s/n will be 8 characters in length, including a combination of both letters and numbers in any (random) position.

Your saleslady is speaking truth. G series would be apart of the new s/n's currently being released at AD's.

If it's G and six numerals, then no one knows what it is...

If it's G and seven alphanumerics then it's a 2010.

My thoughts exactly. I can only guess that perhaps there might be a G series that is going to follow the V series that we will see running parallel with the new random s/n...

There have been a few reports on this forum of G series s/n - but some of those reports I reckon are of random s/n that start with a G.

Just cannot believe for the life of me all this fuss over a approximation when a case might or might not have been stamped.

I have a G serial submariner date non-ceramic purchased this year. I was surprised it wasn't an M or V series. Since it was from an AD I wasn't worried. I can see the value of knowing what serial numbers are out there to help in dating and validating a potential used purchase (albeit it can be faked). All the details should add up.

My SUB S/S

Mine is a G with 6 digits and was bought from official dealer only yesterday, its not the ceramic but new. He told me its 3 months old the last one he got.

Might of been sales talk though I was having it regardless!!

The one I bought in June that was stolen was a G also.

How about tell her to forget the serial number and go straight for her phone number!
