It’s hard up here. I’ve been to both Ads up here in Milwaukee and they’re definitely friendly but not when it comes to getting me the watches :-). A friend of mine was able to get a GMT ii up here but only after getting a datejust first. I think the chances of getting a desired SS watch without a prior purchase is almost impossible unless you happen to walk in and the owner really likes you. It has happened. I stopped by the Rolex boutique last Saturday on the mile and the guy told me I would have to wait years for a Bluesy since they have a crazy list. Not sure if he was telling the truth but being on the mile and with the amount of traffic they get, maybe he was. I WILL find one!.

Based on my experience, I feel confident that you'll eventually get one from the AD if 1) you make it clear it's for your 25 wedding anniversary, and 2) follow up nicely and be patient.

I was able to get one with zero purchase history this year. I waited about a year. I made 3-4 visits into the store during the year I waited. My understanding is that the two tones are getting a little easier to get.

I honestly think it depends on the demand geographically, honestly. They are likely in higher demand in some places than others. For instance, I have a solid relationship with my AD with decent spend history and was able to get a new BLNR on jubilee in January this year after about a 3 month wait—but I have been waiting since May for the Bluesy. I make occasional visits to my AD and we are still waiting. I’ve been told that they haven’t seen as many in shipments recently. Hard to say what’s true and what isn’t—but I know whatever Rolex sends them is what they get. Best of luck and hope you are waiting less time than me

You need to visit these ADs in person, if you want to be taken seriously. After visiting, following up with calls and texts is fine, but go, in person, now!

Generally speaking you will need to visit the stores in person to get a real answer. Most dealers will not tell you their inventory or much else over the phone.

What's more important, the watch or the trip to the AD?

The 13LB has always been comparatively "easy" to obtain but it's all relative. The good news is that if the AD hasn't come through by special day minus two, you can still have your watch on the special day, unworn and like new, from any number of reputable sources.

It was from an authorized dealer. It can happen. Look at a youtube video of a purchase of a Sub Rolesor LB at Schiphol airport.
