"Play" in Royal Oak minute hand

When I set the time on my 15450, point the minute hand to the correct minute and release my fingers from the crown, the minute hand moves a bit and I can never get the hand on the correct minute the first go without correcting. Does anyone else have this issue? My Rolexes don't have this issue and the movements feels a lot more solid. Just wanted to see if this is common or if something is wrong with my watch....

its common. If you set the time before fully winding the watch and also turn the crown back slightly before pushing in it will relieve the tension from the mainspring and the hand wont jump.

Well this is frustrating. Have spent the last 10 minutes timing my watch and it appears it is running 5.5 seconds fast every minute! Will need to get it looked at.

That needs to be looked at. Hopefully just magnetized.

Common issue with the jumping seconds hand, singe’s explanation above is the way round it.

I’ve had this issue myself with a 15400. If you release the gear slack, it will stay put. However, the minute hand on my RO, after an hour or so never seems to correctly exactly line up with the minute marker when the seconds hand passes 12:00.

Anyone notice this issue? I called AP service and they said it’s normal for this design because the hands are “heavier” since they’ve made them larger.

Thanks all. Oddly I wore my watch through the weekend and its now keeping time. Not sure if its not "broken in" (I have probably worn the thing a total of 15 days in the 6 months I've owned it).

Anyone notice it’s hard to keep the minute hand hitting correctly on the minute markers when the seconds hand passes 12? Noticed this on a couple AP 15400st’s.
