Trade opinions please?

Guys would you trade a PepsiC (got at retail) for a green dial 118238?

I expect to pay some cash on top but not sure of the total yet.

Opinions welcome.

TIA.

Do whatever makes you happy and comfortable with.
Personally, I prefer the BLRO and would not trade it towards a DD.

Me personally….would depend on what else I had in my collection. I’d also opt for 40mm vs 36

From a SS perspective - I have watches like a Daytona 116520 and a Tiffany OP.

Thanks for opinions so far.

I like both watches and would see if I could do a fair deal. If the numbers are right then I would make a decision. For me, probably not but if that is what you want then go for it.

I’m more inclined to keep the PepsiC but trade 116520.

For me the 36 DD is the ultimate Rolex. I would not think twice

Same but unfortunately the 116520 is really tanking at the moment lol. I am loathed to sell it cheaply having paid a resale price on it quite high last year.

I had the 18238 a few years ago and I sold it for a decent price. Lusting after one again especially this time in the green dial and solid links

That would depend on the year and the condition of the green dial 118238 and how complete it is as a set.

Trade opinions please?

Sorry, but which dial DD 36? The new green ombre with Roman’s or the existing ombré with diamonds?

Edit: woops, I see you wrote 118, I was thinking 128. So I know it’s not a new ombré. Please dont pull my Rolex card.

Still not sure which green dial was out for the 118 series though.

Normally yes, I'd take a DD36 over a BLRO. I do not, however, think the YG/green combo looks great. It's very showy, which is not my style. It may be yours, however.

I am not a fan of the 36 mm DD but it works well with some with smaller wrists. The green dial is beautiful but not my cup of tea. I would rather ditch the Daytona than the Pepsi as I prefer the newer Daytona's with ceramic bezels as the SS bezel is a scratch magnet. Good luck on your decision.

How do you mean the 116520 is tanking? Price sit around 20-30k still depending of NOS-ness.

I would rather keep the pepsi

I assume since you're contemplating the trade that maybe you're getting tired of it though, in which case go for the trade!

36 DD in YG is amazing. I would go for it, especially with your other SS watches. Personally, I would go for one of the new ‘24 dials though.
