What is a 'Tosser'?

I've heard this term including 'WIS' on this forum but I don't know what these words or acronyms mean?

Thanks for shining light on this....

Surely you jest?

If you consult "The Google" this is what you get:

Here Is The Definition!

-tosser is more like wanker than dickhead, as the toss in tosser refers to the tossing motion of masterbation (or tossing-off). A tosser is someone who masterbates.

Now You know Why They All Call Themselves tossers, because they are all masterbating together

The literal definition is above.

On TRF, it's a term of endearment used by JJ Irani, who some once considered to be CEO of Rolex.

What is a tosser? Ah, the eternal question here on TRF. I'll leave that one to the great coiner of the term, JJ.

WIS = Watch Idiot Savant, one who is passionate (some would say obsessively so) about timepieces, and tends to get into the nuances of them that most people don't even know exist, and who is on a never-ending quest to acquire more.

Again with the barge pole

If you are a Tosser you know it in your heart. first you must meet these 4 criteria

1. Have a Burning passion forRado

2. Acessorise your Rado with nothing but Nato Straps

3. No manual winding a power depleted watch, just a gentle "swirl" and away you go off to start your day.

4. Knowing full heartedly that you can take that to the bank!

Then JJ'll call you out (notice not even 1 sheep reference here)

In Oz I can't think of a situation where the word would be used in a light hearted manner.
It would alway be a put down and would not be used within earshot of the recipient unless you were prepared to defend yourself.

I can only deduce that:

*there are a lot of them in New Zealand.
*they all know each other.
*they are all friends.

Call me one at your peril you bald git.

You're right Eddie...I can't imagine calling somebody that or (the generally considered quite offensive) W' word. As you say, if you called somebody it in a pub or the street, expect a wired jaw for the next 6 weeks or so.

It's not a title you buy.

You have to earn it.
