I wouldn’t. The benefit of the CE is it wouldn’t scratch so I’d love to have one to daily, but realistically I think the steel looks a bit better. Platona isn’t one of my favorites but wouldn’t trade both for a CE in any case

Is the 26585CE an option?? That, IMO, is the ultimate ceramic AP.
Personally and I am sure I am alone with this opinion, while I love the look of the ceramic, I absolutely can not stand how it feels in the hands and wrist. Feels almost "plasticy", for lack of a better word and cheapens the feel for me. Definitely unique but much prefer the weight and substance of a metal, PM or not, watch. my. 02

My (seemingly controversial) view is - do it! Compared to an AP, double balance or otherwise, a Daytona doesn’t do much for me - so for me the question becomes 15407 or 15416. The steel 15407 is fantastic no doubt, but the 15416 edges it out imo, I just love the way AP does black ceramic.

The ceramic is amazing but what you have now is amazinger. Yes, I made up a word for it.
I wouldn’t do that trade but perhaps it’s because I don’t have those pieces. If you have them and you’re bored of them then why not? Every time I have worked out a trade up I pull my watches out of the bank and I can’t do it. My 5167 is in a casebudi now and gets worn because I took it out to trade and I realized I like the watch too much. I will still do it at some point, with what I have out now which is around 5 watches that gives me what I need in terms of rotation and I have a bank safe full of stuff that is gathering dust. |

I prefer the two you have by a wide margin. Ceramic watches leave me cold. It’s all personal preference though …

I like the QP option you decided to go with in the end.
But I wanted to ask whether you had had a chance to previously try on the ceramic openworked and the QP before purchase? I assumed so, but couldn’t tell for sure from the thread. |
