How is this for an underwater shot?

Who says you can't use your SD for diving?

So you really can take them places deeper than a pool
Nice shot.

Nice picture Dave but of all the Rolex sports models sold would seriously doubt if more than 20% ever see any water, Except for the pool, splash in the ocean, or god forbid to take a shower with one still attached to wrist.

Hi Dave what type of rebreather,is that a semi-closed or a fully-closed.Myself only tried one in the pool several years ago,it was very strange with no exhaust bubbles.

Looks like you're hooked up to an industrial sized vaccuum cleaner, Dave.

I'd hate to have to lug that stuff around on land.

BTW, did you take the SD down to its rated depth as a test?

It was an Inspiration fully-closed rebreather. The new model, which was introduced earlier this year, is the Evolution. It has upgraded electronics, an integrated dive computer, and its smaller. This was a training dive, so we stayed shallower than 20m.

This unit is larger than a simple 80 cu. ft. recreational scuba tank and BC, so it took some getting used to in warm water. But it's far easier to wear than a set of double 100s with a dry suit, which is my typical NE Atlantic rig. The advantage to using this unit is you get 4 hours of bottom time at any depth without having to carry extra tanks, and there are no bubbles to disturb the fish. It would have been great to have on my Galapagos trip last year. Every time a school of hammerheads would come near me, they would scatter when I exhaled and they heard the bubbles.

Which end were you exhaling from, David?

The end that makes lots of little bubbles, as opposed to one big bubble.
