I think this is an important topic and that this thread needs to stay alive so that a complete record is had. Clearly Rolex intended specific boxes for certain watches.

Actually this is more of a question rather than a contribution...
Is this a period correct inner and outer box for a 1972 Oyster Perpetual 1002? The seller's description mentions that it is from the early 70's. Any comments, replies or suggestion would be much appreciated. |

That is a great idea I can't help with any box references unfortunately though as I'm not convinced any of my watches have the original boxes. Good luck with it and I'll be sure to use the reference in future. |
