Have you ever thought that the reason why there are TT ones in the case as opposed to the SS models is that they sell less? Yes, you can find TT Daytonas easily in an ADs window, but I absolutely guarantee you will find far more SS Daytonas in the wild. The TT Daytona is a "rarer" watch than the SS Daytona. Mind blown?

I've had both...and like SS better because the tt is just to much bling for my taste.

But honestly, I see gents with Rolex nearly every day. I have seen way more SS (and even full 18k) Daytonas than TT models. Same to with Subs, DJs etc. I have seen way more SS or 18k than TT. |

Believe me, go for a SS.
And btw, what is the real size of the Daytona? For me the actual size of it is 38mm because winding crown and chrono buttons shouldn't be included. If you pick a Sub 40mm for example you can see the difference of the size right away! Now if you include the curvature of the case and are not just measuring the edges of the bezel, you get 40mm. But IMHO, even this curvature shouldn't be included. Otherwise a Sub would have 42mm, not 40mm instead. What do you guys think? IF you buy the hype, SS. If you want fantastic dial choices, TT.

TT gives you much more choices. SS is far more popular and harder to find

I like the SS, and have an SS black dial. TT is not bad either, and like others have mentioned, more dial choices.

I much prefer the TT look, classy enough for evening wear and not out of place during the day here in the UK

This is untrue the ss daytona does not hold value better than other Rolex it will be worth approx 30-40% in trade value and only 70-75% for private sale - the subc gmtc are the same also. This is a myth about the SS daytona

Just sold my tt daytona panda dial, although I do miss it occasionally but the gold bezel is a scratch magnet despite being so careful. If you want to buy watch to enjoy and wear them all the time, go with SS.

This is a thread that just wont die. It should be framed next to is a 36mm Datejust too small for my wrist, the answer to that question is always Yes or No.
Here's a tip they are both nice, if you want something low key and works particularly as a daily wearer then the SS is your choice. If you want something a bit dressier then the TT may be your choice. I think Rolex is the only brand that still pulls off a TT look, old Seiko's etc that have TT do look dated (often as they had a rounded style bracelet link which in itself looks 80/90's IMHO). I am happy with my TT choice, no regrets, but would be just as happy with a SS, and did go very close to hitting the trigger on WG instead of the TT. I just like the watch in any form. I have noticed that people with less than 500 posts tend to be more aggressive at times in their opinion, where those who have 1000+ posts rarely say anything negative about others choices, not sure how I feel about that, as I do like honesty, but maybe those with less posts are more used to the troll based environment of the general internet super highway, other forums I follow such as F1 is just a verbal abuse slanging match of people who will never meet each other on opposite sides of the world.

As a sports watch, the SS Daytona is a natural choice. TT & gold watches have a more formal appearance. Admittedly, the TT Daytona is a beautiful watch just not sportier looking enough if one is looking for the casual sportier look. Solution: own both and good luck shopping...
