Rose Gold AP 26022 or Everose Rolex 116515

It seems a lot of Rolex owners cross over to AP. If you had the choice, which one would you choose (seem fairly close in price range)? The AP is iconic and stunning. However the chocolate dial on the Rolex is scintillating and unique.

The AP's you've posted are the old 39MM and a little dated in my eyes. I would in this case and only this case go Rolex over AP. Love the 40MM, ceramic bezel, Arabic numerals and Choco dial & rose gold of the Rolex.

I have actually owned both and sold my Daytona to get an AP. I was one of the first people on the forum to get it when it first came out. Having never seen the watch in person, I had ordered it. From the pictures online it looked great but I remember from the day that I got it at the AD I was disappointed with it. The chocolate dial is very hard to read but more importantly it doesn't look great in most lighting conditions. You really have to get the right lighting for it to show it's full potential.

I'm very happy with my AP, the strap I can change between leather and rubber which is extremely comfortable in the summer by the way. The watch case itself being full rose gold really pops on your wrist, the dial looks good pretty much in any lighting condition.

If your wrist can handle the newer style which is much bigger than go for the 41mm but if not you will be as happy with the 39mm. You also have more options for dials on the older ones. To me the older style is very close in size to the Daytona.

Funny. I had the AP 26022 exactly the same like Armin also in rubber (changed it last year for the 41 mm 26320OR), and I still have the 116515 LN with brown dial. I wear/wore my AP's and the daytona with a rubber strap. In case of the daytona, a RubberB strap. That's perfect.

It's a difficult choice, but I would choose the Daytona. Because you will get less scratches (strong bezel). And the Dial and hands of the AP are a little out of date.

I'd take the AP, even the older style, but would prefer a black dial.

I really liked the choco Daytona too but the dial was too dark in most light so I got the new ROC.

My preference would be the ivory dial RG daytona or the new ROC like Neil has above. Between what's here, I would still go AP if that's what gets one in the collection.

AP is a door worth opening

Wow, that makes it an extremely tough choice. But it seems the AP would have more presence.
It seems in the photo the AP dark dial is more legible than the chocolate dial.

That is for sure, this AP much more legible. But this is the 41mm new roc! Not the 26022.

I'm not fond of the Daytona's any longer. My last Daytona lasted less than thirty days. Were as my AP's always find more favour. I love the black dial Chrono.

I would take the 26022 over the Rolex. I have a 26022 in white gold and I'm very happy with it.

I have the 116515 but with ivory dial, first wanted the chocolate but after a lot of research found that the dial is hard/Impossible to read without a lot of light, many people buy it and flip it a short time after because of that, sure it looks really cool but the purpose of a watch IMO is also to be able to tell the time even if the light is not very strong.

What I love about this Daytona is the bezel, really a beauty and yes less prone to scratches than the AP because of the bezel, about the price in France retail for the Daytona is 23.400 but you can find new ones on Chrono24 for 15-16K, euros of course not dollars, not sure AP is possible to get at such prices, so seems to me I would go Daytona on this one, but once again if you do be very careful about legibility of the chocolate model, it's more fashionable where the ivory is more classy IMO...
