A big thanks to Al (Avalon)

Some of us followed your lead and ordered the DVD, magazine and catalogue off the Glashütte website. So did I. But I did more. In my family is a budding WIS and without his knowing (but I told his wife, Anne’s niece) I ordered another set in his name. He’s very promising, buying watch magazines and is starting to know his stuff. (Mechanical watches have his preference now).

The Glashütte set was the ‘coup de grace’, I’ve sunken my fangs deep into him now! He was flabbergasted about the package (still doesn’t know who or why but is starting to get his suspicions) and is equally flabbergasted about the beauty of those stunning watches and movements. Yes guys, another recruit in our ranks! (Or another victim ).

Yes, Frans....I even thanked Al in a PM for that link. I've already watched the DVD twice and enjoyed it each time. Truly masterful!!

I think if Al could provide that link one more time, more of our friends on TRF could order the FREE Glashutte pack in.

Thanks - JJ

You are quite welcome. I think this video shows why GO is one of those rare brands that offer good value for your money. There is a good deal of hand finishing on these and honestly for the prices these go for they are quite good value......my Panoreserve movement is a good example:

The GO web site uses frames so I can't link directly to the page where you order this, but I did give the instructions in this thread:

Gee Whiz, Al. Almost like an old world crafted watch. That's absolutely spectacular!

Yep, A big thanks to Al to from me. Ordered my package & it came last week. Some of their pieces are just stunning. My boss was even captivated with the catalogue & the watches inside.

Guys,

I highly recommend you click on that link provided by Al and then the next one in that. Just follow the simple steps and order in your Glashutte pack. It's all free and worth it. The DVD is just over 40 minutes, but very informative, instructional and with some mind-blowing close-ups of the movements. A must for every WIS.

A colleague of mine is going to Germany in a couple of weeks and is planning a stop in the town of Glashutte to take the factory tour. Their factory was built specifically with public tours in mind, so you can see the watch makers assembling movements, finishing parts, etc, from an excellent vantage point.

Hopefully he actually makes the tour and brings back some baubles. He's a fan of GO, but has his sights firmly on a Panerai, after he buys his BMW Enduro bike next spring.

Ooohh, 650 or 1200?
Great bikes, but pretty heavy apparently. Sounds like a lot of fun though!

I think he's getting the 1200. He's got a GSXR750R so I can't see him going for the 650. I'll ask him when I see him later today. He wants to take his wife on an off-road camping trip, so the bike is the way to go.

Now that sounds like a fun holiday. It's amazing how many of the 650's and 1200's you see even just driving around on the road, and they don't look out of place there either. Parked near a KTM of some description a while back, and it looked like a green great dane on steroids - imposing and loud!

Whoa! Just recieved my set today and have to say it was some extremely good service for free $$. I got 150-page hard cover book with high glossy pages, presenting the history, manufacturing, masterpieces of engineering, current collection etc etc.. 3 smaller catalogs, price list, new models, AD contact informations. Then of course this dvd packed in some nice covers, not any bulky stuff. Last there was some thankyou-letter from the president of GO

The first time I received this package there wasn't a hardcover catalogue in it either, but I received the entire package again (minus the letter) last week and this time the catalogue was included. I can only guess that they didn't have them available the first time around so sent the whole thing out again when they did. It could be that those who didn't get the entire set will have the same thing happen.

This was good for me because like Frans did, I am working on few people with regards to watches.....
