New Rolex 2024 Price increase thoughts

Just noticed Rolex increased pricing across the board on all models. Subamriners all gold models are going for 50k at AD now. What are your thoughts will grey market prices pre-owned prices go up accordingly or what have you experienced in past on these annual price increases??

Sir -

No.
Market is coming in..
The list price is $39,000 (MSRP) for the YG Sub.
I would advise you to go to Mayers in Boca Raton, I’m sure you will get your PM SUB at MSRP or less within 3-6 months…..
The market is different now, but supply and demand rules everything..
For example, I’m so old that all my PM Rolex watches were bought at 20-35% off MSRP and I always got got 10-20% off SS except my Daytona’s, which was always full MSRP (even in 1988!)….THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN ANYTIME SOON!! But there’s more buyers today and that keeps prices higher - but you will see less demand as the economy softens.
Good Luck.

Very good points and all true!

I’ll add not only are there more buyers there are also way more used sellers who play a role in keep the status quo where it’s at.

As long as a wait list exists prices will keep climbing.

Are you referring to MSRP prices or secondary prices? Because there are waitlisted watches at ADs that have seen their secondary market prices come down materially over the past year.

39k listed for all gold, where did you get 50k from?

Fifty thousand what exactly? It ain't UK pounds or US dollars.

Everything's gone up more since 2020. That's inflation for you. Have you seen what Omega are charging?

I heard because of over production and reduced sales Rolex is cutting its price by 25% across the whole S.Steel range. And by 60% on all precious metal and diamond watches, and greys cut by up to 65% but this could be a rumour. But one is for sure sometime in the future there will be a price rise, when well only Rolex knows. But there is a old saying what goes up, must come down sometime.

YG sub is $39,000 MSRP not $50,000

I think OP confused the new YG DS for a Sub.

YG Subs can easily be had in the low 30s in the grey.

US prices are still the same as far as I can tell, no price increase.

Look around. There is a grey selling a 116618 blue dial for under $30k.

Interestingly, while I was checking out Rolex.com I took a look at the BLRO in SS on jubilee.

When I bought mine in 2018 it was $10600. Now it’s $13950.

I guess the price increases in some way sort of support the grey market pricing.

FYI , davisdw and equivalent are not AD's , and so they are not representative of so called MSRP ...

Shoooooottttt....

Try JLC and ALS.... They are up ~40% or more in the last couple of years. JLC infamously had a big increase on the Reverso Chrono before they even had delivered one at the originally announced price.
