AD has 2024 YG Submariner

I was hoping for a YG Daytona but they have a YG Sub date with blue face and I really like it (though my wife does not). In the current climate is it realistic to ask for discount since it is YG or are people just paying sticker?

appreciate the help gents!

You can ask and if it gets refused it then becomes your choice to pay full price. You have nothing to lose. Great looking watch by the way.

You wont get a discount AD's amongst many other products are sticking to paying full price, period. Days of haggling are fading away.

I purchased mine at full price from an authorized dealer. It is a superb timepiece, albeit quite substantial in weight.

Please listen to your wife. It's a tacky watch. I use to have it. Ew, how tastes change.

Ask, but they likely won't budge.
I'd also go grey for a pretty good savings.

IF discounts come back it will be on PM first, but they have no reason to do so when every SS model flies right out the door with a phone call.

Discounts were to move metal that had been sitting around for awhile. It was not uncommon for ADs to have PM models sit in their cases for years, back in the day.

Full retail is a bargain… just take a look at the Rolex CPO watch prices if you start to loose perspective. We love their watches but cpo confirms how their own success has boxed them into a corner. Pay retail gladly all day long.

They are going to sell it for MSRP to you, or to a grey dealer bundled with a BLRO, also at sticker. That's my guess at how things work now.

I'd stick with your original plan. Plus, why buy something you wife doesn't like?

That's a stretch lol retail is $39k plus tax you can buy grey for $37-39k for a 2023/2024 new reference.

I would not pay full price for that model. Look at our Trusted Sellers for a very competitive price. Better yet, find the Daytona you want from a Trusted Seller and please your self and your wife.

Thanks for the feedback all. I think I will try to find the YG Daytona with the Paul Newman face as I really like that one (which is more palatable to my wife though she doesn’t like the gold watches in general). Do you think one of the AD’s can find that watch for me?

If your spouse does not like it, I would wait. The black dial YG sub is a lot less flashy. I took a blue face sub in trade and quickly sold it. I would use the Gray prices relative to MSRP as an indicator of the amount of time you are willing to wait.

Bingo. And if they sale other brands like Tag or Grand Seiko they’ll make sure the used dealer takes those as well at sticker
