There is a form I usually fill out prior to leaving Canada at the CBSA office at the airport. Basically, you show them your watch, they document it, with serial number, etc and give you a green card with a stamp and signature that this left Canada for your vacation and are returning the same item. Its easy and never an issue. The nice thing is you can keep this form for the next time you travel if its with the same watch. I think the form was called Y38 or something like that.

There are plenty of Grey's in Canada... the bulk of whom don't have brick + mortar stores... which is honestly pretty normal in socialist Canada these days - Government has made it very difficult to run the mom and pop style businesses of yester-year.
OP just join some watch groups on FB.

Hi everyone. I just purchased my first Rolex from Calgary and am excited about it. I have travelled since 2006 to Jamaica and NYC each summer wearing my Panerai and have never ever had a customs officer glance at it. Having said that, with a purchase this expensive why risk it? If you can afford a 10K watch there is no reason to risk it
PS I bought my H series Black Seal Panerai in Jamaica in the summer of 06. Declared the purchase coming through Toronto and there was a ton of ppl ahead of me. Two lines and one guy was waving ppl through. I went to that line, gave him my card and was waived through too. |

There is zero provincial sales tax but GST and duties still apply.

Hey Ross. I'm in AB. The problem is that if you are not entering Canada via a direct flight, you'll pay the fees based on the province that you enter. Like I said, I got lucky coming through Toronto that I got waived through
