To trade or not to trade!

AD called me today and said they had an Blue OP 41 (been wanting for a long time).

I'm contemplating on trading in an 2022 Air King (don't wear as much as i thought i would) and take the credit to buy the OP 41 ( would cover just have to pay tax) and buy a Tudor Pelagos 39 while im there. I have to make this decision by tomorrow. HEEELLLP!!!

DO IT ASAP!
The catharsis of dumping a watch you don’t love, for something that makes you feel special, is priceless!
The Blue Pelagos is so light, so beautiful, so cool that it will really compete for wrist time with the Oyster Perpetual.
PS
They both keep excellent time!

The question is, is your AD aware of this potential trade, or are you hoping it will happen?

If yes, then, there's one watch you've been wanting for a long time, and another you haven't been wearing. It's clear. Do it!

My AD has a trade program that they advertise on their website. They called me an hour before closing and I told them I would be there in the morning. I just decided about the trade right before I started this thread lol. I dont think it would be a surprise.

I'm eyeing up a regular or LHD Pelagos. Everyone who has one loves it so i don't think you could go wrong there. Plus a Rolex you like on top, no brainer to trade IMO.

I would do it and the Pelagius 39 is a superb piece which will only sweeten the experience both for yourself and the AD

OP and Pelagos for an AK or you have to buy the Pelagos to receive OP for AK? Big difference.

Go for it. I really like the Pelagos line-up and currently they are getting a lot of wrist time. I always enjoy culling and then adding to my collection.

Yes! Sounds like you already made up your mind. I used to hang on to watches no matter what, but I eventually became comfortable trading watches that I just didn’t wear much and replaced with something else…I think how often you reach for a piece is a good indicator…Good luck!

Soooooooo I did it. My AD was surprisingly shocked I wanted to trade the AK. The AD ended up giving me what I paid for the AK in 2022.

Traded in the AK. Walked out with a blue OP 41, P39, and a 32mm Longine Hydroconquest for my wife. Got a discount on the Longine. All under $6300

Other than being 1000% satisfied I feel like I won.

Congrats on your blue OP and other aquisitions. Good move and glad it worked out. Plus no hassles with a private sale. Look forward to your wrist pictures. Wear and enjoy them all in good health. Cheers!
