Rolex YG Sky-Dweller Dial Swap and Service

I just got my YG Sky-Dweller on the bracelet back from a complete service and dial swap. I had the Champagne Arabic dial and the watch was from July of 2018. After contacting RSC Dallas in July, I was informed that I was outside the five years needed to do a dial change. I could also pick any dial that was offered for this model at the time of production. The Customer Service Representative was very nice, as usual, and I requested the kit to mail the watch. I was told that there maybe a mandatory service to the watch but they would have to wait until they received it to make that determination. I then decided to use my AD and gave them the watch on August the 4th. Sometime in late September I was contacted by my AD and given the details of the dial change. To change the dial, hands and disc wheel it would be $1543.50. A complete service was not mandatory but I chose to have one done while they had the watch for $1150.00. When the watch returned the first of November it looked great but still had the black month disc instead of the red disc that came on the Silver dial. Back it goes and it showed up yesterday. I am pleased with the outcome and I also received a new service warranty card that is good for two years. Now I will get some wrist time with one of my favorite watches.

Silver dials work nicely with yellow gold on Rolexes. Looks mint. Enjoy.

Wow, so well worth it! 2500.00 for a new YG SkyD!! Great decision, this dial works better than the champagne IMO.

Wowza … what a drastic change / upgrade, IMO.

Love the Romans … Love the Silver Dial … the Champagne, IMO, was too much … this is a classy look / perfect combination.

Congratulations on such a beautiful watch.

Did you have RSC polish your watch ?

Looks like a great upgrade. Did they keep the orig dial / disk?

Thanks for sharing, fun thing to do.

Did they share what dial options were available in 2018? Since you can’t go on the Rolex site and see what’s available, how did you know what options were available?

The new dial colour is very harmonious with the yellow gold sky dweller.

Wow, what an absolute joke this is still happening !, amazing!

Already a couple of years ago this Everose Skyd was sent back to Geneva HQ service centre for a dial change from Chocolate to Rhodium (this was even before the 5 year policy!)

The watch returned with the brown monthdisk still being installed. You could call this an absolute blooper for a company obsessed with perfection and QC.

[IMG][/IMG]

Owner of the watch was told by the AD that sent in the watch reason this happened there was a mistake in working instruction/procedures for the service centre regarding Skydwellers and this was now fully corrected.

But last year exactly the same thing happened again with a white gold Skyd on leather going from Ivory Roman to Black Arab from a grey I know. No picture of that one.

And now AGAIN with your Skyd, what a shame…

Thanks to everyone for the nice comments. When I spoke to the RSC Customer Service Representative she told me the dial options that were available. I did not get to keep my original dial nor did I choose to have the watch polished during service.

What a beautiful piece. There is nothing quite like a Rolex yellow gold sports watch. My father let me wear his new YG Submariner … can’t imagine how nice the weight feels on that Sky-Dweller.

Wear it in good health
