Paul huge congrats on your new 5990!

I am wondering how does it compare to the 5980 size n wear?

I pop in to the pp boutique a few weeks ago in HK to check out the 5164 (they have 2 sitting in the display box) I didn't close the deal cos IMHO I think the gap between the up/down pusher on the left ear of the watch is too far apart.. 5990 however looks almost a uni-piece.. Which looks great!

Maybe buying this for my hubby coming bday present.. Yet to see it in real life..

Anyway.. Congrats once again.. .. jen

Thank Jen It wears by a microscope a little larger, but basically same as 5980. The ears are perfect and they are matte vs polished like 5980.

Amazing watch--hubby will be happy.

Thank you very much for your prompt feedback! Yeah I will certainly check it out in person ASAP! Looks amazing on you!! Enjoy!!! .. Jen

Somehow the 5990 look much bigger in photos.. Could it be the sub dial arrangement?

The bezel looks wider to me on the 5980, so the dial on the 5990 could be bigger?

What's the actual thickness? The Patek site doesn't mention it (oddly).

Have no tool to measure it...but it's pretty close to 5980.

Movement height is 6.95mm and 5980 movement height is 6.63 mm.

It's not stated in the manual?

Congrats. So nice and combines my two favorite, and most practical, complications.

If I didn't have (and love the blue dial on) the 5711, I'd be all over the 5990.
