Hurricane switches vacation to Mexico
Well I had an 8 day vacation scheduled to the Bahamas coming up.... got a call this morning and was offered a full refund or to switch destinations.
Since it's near impossible to get vacations in my line of work, we switched to Cancun, Mexico. Sandos Carocal (adult/ deluxe) package. Honestly, I have never (and still don't) really want to go to Mexico. I'm sure I'll enjoy it.... but Mexico has never attracted me. Still going to wear my Rolex, eat some food, drink a lot, and enjoy the sun. Part of me feels bad that while I'm enjoying the weather, everyone where we were going to be going is rebuilding. Sad, but such is life I guess. I'll get some pictures and post from the free wifi lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Cancun isn't really Mexico, more like a resort suburb in Florida. Don't worry, you will love it.
If you want to see a little bit of Mexico, and something really cool, take the Chichen itza tour. It's a bus ride out to the ruins and a guided tour of the archeological site. |

Sun, surf, drinks with paper umbrellas - switch the rum for tequila and you'll prolly never know the diff!
Hope it goes well

Cancun is like one big tourist gift shop, head down to Playa Del Carmen 30 minutes away. Whole different world and atmosphere over there. The food, scenery, and culture is 100x better. I wore my Gshock out there...... and I was running into people wearing YG Royal Oaks and Day Dates.
BTW the women are soooo much hotter there than Cancun. |

Btw if your going to an all inclusive place in Cancun, tip the bartender a $20 and tell them you want the hidden tequilas. All of a sudden, Clase Azul and Don Julio 1942 show up under the counter!

Sometimes there's a gold lining in the cloud. We got switched from Egypt to one of the small Greek islands a couple of years ago. I love the islands, but my wife had never fancied them. Now she's hooked.
Enjoy your trip, perhaps you'll find your new favourite destination. |

Where were you supposed to go? Our favorite resort on Exuma got some moderate damage during Matthew but they're going to be down for just two weeks (initially).

We were supposed to go to the Memories Grand Bahamas. Gaijin. That would have been great. I've got a few friends I used to do Drum Corps with from Japan. The culture has always fascinated me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

The Yucatan peninsula is wonderful. Cancun is quite crowded. A real resort town. Go a bit south. Akumal, Tulum. Absolutely breathtaking beaches.
Chichen Itza is an amazing archaeological site. But if you are not really in to it, I wouldn't recommend it, as it takes a day of your vacation. I'm glad I've seen it, but it's not for everyone.

Tye, enjoy your time in Mexico. Please go to the Luxury Avenue at Kukulkan mall to window shop a great selection of watches. BTW, Cancun is a safe place to wear your Rolex
