What a great story and accompanying photos. Your dad lived a fuller life in his short time here than most of us! It’s awesome that you have the photos and the momento with which to remember him and to expose him to your own child.

And $26 for an offshore (Hawaii) trip?? Sign me up!

Such a heart warming story - truly a watch from generation to generation.

I will pass my watches to my kids and hopefully they and their next generation can come back to this forum and post their stories with the watches.

Interesting and very touching story. My father passed last year and I think of him daily. (We were very close.) The bond between father and son is special indeed.

Your father was an impressive man! I'm sure he'd be very proud of you as you seem to have accomplished some great things in life. (Career, beautiful little girl, etc.) Most of all, you seem humble and sensitive which, to me, are very admirable personality traits.

Thank you for your heartfelt post and enjoy that ultra-heirloom in the best of health.

Oh yeah, that Porsche 911 is wicked-cool.

Best,
Mark

I don't visit these forums as much as I'd like to but when I do it warms my heart and touches my soul to read wonderful, real, raw, personal stories such as these. Thank for sharing it with us. One of THE best threads I've had the pleasure of reading and one that helps explain and almost perfectly encapsulates why we fall in love with these amazing timepieces. Someday my son will inherit my small, modest collection of vintage Rolexes and the birth year Speedy I got for him when he was born 7 years ago. My only hope is that he can remember me as fondly and lovingly as you remember your father.

Thank you

All of the kind words and feedback have been appreciated. I am sure this will all help my daughter better understand the connection to my father that this watch provides.

Phillip just installed an extra link on the 7206 rivet bracelet and the fit is much improved. Amazing how differently this watch looks and feels on the correct rivet vs the later 93150.
