modarator stopped my post?

Can someone please give me a clue why a post of mine was stopped? Didn't write anything obscene or say anything crass.

Any thoughts on this?

There's restrictions beyond being obscene or crass - see http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=8936

I just asked about flipping my gmt for a new one and what it might be worth in trade etc. Is there something wrong with that question?

On the surface, no. Maybe you mentioned some other things that are prohibited. Or maybe the post looked like you were trying to sell it. You should send a PM to the Mod. I'm sure he can fill you in.

I believe the issue is that you can't list sale ads anywhere else on the forum except in the sale section which you have to be a pledge member to do.
Also TRF general area doesn't really let you value watches, you can find out pretty easily what your watch is worth by looking through the sales section finding your watch etc.

It might not seem like much but it could be seen as trying to get around the rules of posting sales ads since you're stating you might want to flip your GMT which means you could receive offers etc.

not sure if this is why your post got closed but this is why I have seen such posts closed in the past.

The rules prohibit offering of (or inference to) any watch for sale outside the sale or trade section. Maybe the mod thought there was an 'inference to'
