It never ceases to amaze me how many people will do anything to get a Rolex.

Rolex implemented the CPO program to show you just how unworthy you are. No, you cannot buy a new watch at MSRP but here is an overpriced used model that is a few years old. This is what you and your money is worth.

I can just imagine this in the boardroom:

Stan: We need more ways of fleecing people. Those secondary sellers are taking all of our cash! Running a "not for profit" ain't cheap..

Jim: Wait, people still believe the not for profit...nevermind.. I have an idea! Why don't we take old watches, run them through the car wash, do a service check, and then sell them as Pre-owned?

Stan: That is a great idea but it isn't enough. What if we called them "Certified" and then priced them thousands of dollars over the msrp of new ones? Will the fanboys go for that?

John: Hmm.. Well, let's really spread the word how safe it is to buy from an AD as they are in the business of building relationships with their customers and you are just $$$ to the secondary market which is also just full of thieves!

Stan: That could work but won't people see through our ruse? I mean selling old for higher prices than new?

John: HAHAHA... Who cares? They will do whatever we tell them. They can go buy an Omega or JLC if they want to pay MSRP.

Stan: You are right. Do it!

lol. If this is a crime, If guess I'm a criminal because last Saturday night for the anniversary I "bribed" the hostess and we ended up with best table in the restaurant, with unobstructed bay view.

I gave my AD a bottle of $300 whiskey with a $500 steakhouse gift card inside... I was sold another watch on my list shortly thereafter.

This is dumb as sh*t. Why stop @ $5k?

A - Nobody at Rolex is coming to your house and making anyone buy a Rolex
B - They are a corporation and not stupid, they see the insane $$$ that people are WILLING to spend for used Rolex or Classic Rolex and want in on it
C - Sometimes an older version of something is worth more than that newer version (maybe visit a car site or high end auction now and then)
D - Have you ever heard of a Car Dealer offering CPO, this isn't a new thing.
E- See A, don't buy it if you don't want to.

How dare a corporation try to maximize revenue and shareholder value.

Whether or not it would work on the other hand, who knows, but worth a shot. If this option was available it would be more appealing than going grey in some ways - deal directly with AD with no greys/scalpers/flippers taking a cut.

I helped an AD out with a discount at a fashion company I was working for (as I did for all my friends when I wasworking for them) and got a Pepsi within 2 weeks. i didn't ask for anything, but getting the watch was a nice surprise.

5 grand in cash is a bit vulgar - maybe bake them some cookies.

Great idea! 20% or more just like in a restaurant should do the trick! Why didn’t I think of this?

Shareholder doesn't always mean publicly traded.

There are many people that have a share or a stake in a company.

Not the dunk you think you made.

Where did I say anything about being publicly traded?

To be fair to the OP...whether he deserves it or not..

People "tip" their grey/used/trusted sellers about 3-4 times that $5000 just to be first on their block to have new models. I honestly don't understand it, but I am not particularly wealthy.

I would bet anyone who would spend $5k extra on a Daytona in such a blatant way would not be able to resist selling it a week later for +$10k. Oh wait, that's how the grey market works.

I have a few friends that have tried this and it did not work as you have described. If you want to play the game spend the 5 on a different brand of watch or jewelry for wife and ask for a sub. When you get the call and go pick up your sub you could take your shot at bribing your SA at that time. Even if they accept your still not just going to magically get a Panda Daytona, as others have already stated on here you need multiple approvals to get allocated a steel Daytona and the only thing that matters is how much $$$ you’ve burned recent at that particular ad. If all goes well and SA isn’t offended you will begin to get calls on more pieces (not Steele Daytona until you’ve spent 100k+) Panda even more. If you really want the watch buy it from a grey dealer. I’ve done the math, you’ll lose a lot more trying to play this game.

You clearly implied it with your "let me know where I can get those shares" comment. Own it, move on...it's all good.

I am a F'in Blast at parties! Mostly because I don't try to jump in on conversations I am not intelligent enough to talk about.

A 5G tip for watch that goes for 20 over list? That’s good entertainment. Much like this thread.

Introducing the new Rolex BribeMaster, it's an off catalogue piece presented in pure Copium. It has all the complications, including a 24 hour bezel for those wanting to time how long it takes their SA to start drooling (in three time zones) as soon as they see the brown envelope.

Unlike other Rolex models, there is no waitlist for this model, it is on offer to the customer who offers the biggest brown envelope. To purchase this watch, bring your large envelope and leave it with your SA, we will notify the lucky BribeMaster within 5 years of dropping in the envelope. T's & C's apply...

T's & C's. AD to keep all brown envelopes.
