whats done is done and I am sure that RSC will take care of you. in the event that they dont which is highly unlikely, you are welcome to give me a call and Ill take care of the watch for you at no cost. Just want to help out. The forums isnt a bad place to purchase your brand new Rolex. Just have to do some digging.

What a train wreck.
If the movement sustained damage due to being dropped.....the case will show the dent/damage even after being polished (unless they used the laser/welder...which they aren't doing under "warranty" -LOL). Do you have the RSC paperwork showing the work done? Again....RSC doesn't fix damaged watches for free....ESPECIALLY damage so severe that it actually affects the movement. I would LOVE to see pics of the case in its current condition. I don't know who to believe at this point but someone isn't being forthright....and reputations aren't easy to fix.... |

Back from RSC
Well, I finally received my watch back today. I can't say enough good things about the RSC in Beverly Hills. They were always professional and courteous and made me feel better about this whole ordeal the day I walked in the door. I've attached the paperwork-it's pretty self explanatory. They confirmed that the watch was running 2 seconds per day slower than acceptable tolerances and therefore regulated the movement. The ding is on the lower right side of the inside part of the lug where the bracelet meets the case. They couldn't say one way for sure if that was where the watch was banged causing the slight deviation but thankfully, the movement had no damaged parts as they thought initially. As for the polishing, I questioned them on this based on some members thinking it was unpolished. The rep actually went back to discuss (again) with the technician about it. They demonstrated to me with a loupe certain spots on the bracelet that are "uneven" because whoever did it did not have the proper wheel and equipment. It is, however, impossible to see with the naked eye but it's obviously their business to inspect all parts of the watch absolutely thoroughly. They further explained that it's not a bad thing but it's their opinion that it should have been disclosed and really were perplexed (as I am) why a newer watch was in need of it. In the end, despite some heartache and stress, I now have a beautiful Rolex in near perfect shape to enjoy! To all those who sent me messages and/or believed and supported me on this forum, I say thank you so very much. To those who attacked and doubted, it's all good too. I hope my story helped others learn from my mistakes. As a side note, I'm still here posting and logging in somewhat frequently and the seller, MROElectric, hasn't had any activity at all in three weeks. Coincidence? Talk to you all soon. God Bless!!

Glad it worked out !
For any potential buyers on the fence about dealing with trusted sellers, I want to stress the importance, as has been mentioned before, of doing your homework. The true "trusted sellers" (those with years of positive feedback) offer substantial savings and are absolutely worth your consideration. For the last four years I have dealt mostly with Oscar Bodybump, with whom I've bought and traded dozens of high dollar watches. I also purchased from Tony (Justrolexes) and communicated with David SW (who hopefully doesn't view me as a tire kicker)- all with excellent results. But on the rare occasion that I saw a watch that I liked offered by a lesser known seller, I asked Oscar if he could either find me a similar piece or deal with said seller for me, thus using his expertise to insure no problems. These top trusted sellers not only sell and buy watches but also locate hard to get parts, provide servicing from Rolex certified watchmakers and will bend over backwards to provide great customer service. They are in it for the long run and their reputation is their everything. I thank the OP for detailing his experience because it gives us a "how NOT to do" scenario of purchasing a quality timepiece. Thankfully it had a happy ending. And I thank the TRF, especially the moderators, for being fair and insightful as always. |

Glad it worked out for you.
It's because of this thread I recently sold a Rolex to OCRolexguy - one of the trusted TRF power sellers. I took a big loss but I enjoyed my watch for the time I had it and didn't want to deal with the issues of selling privately. From this point on I'm only going to deal with the 3 or 4 power sellers I've already been working with since joining this site. When we deal with thousands of dollars in transactions I want to ensure this stuff doesn't happen to me. |
