Just a Beautiful Story...

This is definitely worth watching. Just a beautiful story that most if not all of us can relate to. Thought I'd share.

I would have loved to see the face of the seller when he saw that big mofo entering the police station to buy his daytona, it must have been a sight to be seen.

Haha that was cool.

I agree with him about the not being materialistic part.

I don’t think I’m materialistic even though I like shiny things

Go figure

That's too funny!
I couldn't believe it's really F/S on eBay!

Is that true? I'd be really interested to see the link. Please PM me with the details. I'm devastated if it is.

Typical response from a non-WIS.

You can tell a true Rolex fan by how long he wears his watches.

Yeah, I just found the watch on fleabay. I'm speechless. Wish I'd never started this thread now.

Ok once drove from mass to Cape Coral Florida to pick up a 116520 about 7 years ago.10k cash deal and I love to drive so why not.24 hours each way.

Drove to Pennsylvania 8 hours each way to buy a 116610lv and 114060 4 years ago for 16k cash.

Drove to Myrtle beach to grab a 116618ln for 21 cash.14 hours each way.

Drove many times to conn 3-4 hours away, parts of Maine 3-4 hours away and Jersey a couple times.

So many different watches over the years and so many miles.Good times.I love cruising and watches.

Thanks for sharing. I don't blame him for selling his watch. He doesn't attache to things, he said he likes to buy things at the bottom price and sell it later to make money. He didn't buy it from boutique/ADs and flip it.

I read this thread and then watched the first 4 1/2 minutes of the video. White trash biker-looking dude (his words) driving a RR talking about getting a Daytona where the main point is that it is below market value.

Almost brings a tear to my eye...

It’s pathetic to see him fake drool over his supposedly dream watch and the whole time knowing he is going to flip it immediately.

LOL I just watched this and then saw he is listing it for $22k when he bought it a few days before for $18250.

ahahahahah

Dream watch hey? That wore off quick. LOL - he aint gonna get that price in the current market no way. He will probably at best break even. I reckon hes gonna lose money on this piece.

Amazing, maybe its just me, but the first thing I would have done is to put it on my wrist set the time and play with the chronology features? Next would be to admire it on the drive back home with my arm propped on the door in the sunlight.

I have years in this hobby, decades, and years in this forum and I have never asked if my watch is a good investment or not, or if it will go up in price, I am a lover of mechanical watches and especially Rolex. The story did not have a happy ending for a watch forum. But is his watch, right?
