Similar experience at Caesar’s Palace AD unless you have an appointment.

Same here in the UK too.

Whilst I did enjoy the occasional ad hoc visit to the AD when out shopping, before I started making appointments the final few times I called in to the store I didn’t get chance to speak with the SA for the same reason.

I don’t mind making appointments as I know I will get chance to speak to a SA and it doesn’t waste my time.

Given how many tourists pass through Vegas though, it does seem a little strange having that policy there too.

I went to Vegas in April of last year and did not encounter this at all. I wonder if things have changed in January?

I don't visit "Rolex-only" boutiques anymore, and when I go to an AD that carries other brands, I avoid the Rolex section. Rolex SAs are like an inebriated person convinced they're more attractive than real life suggests.

You walked in front of the line and tried to go in? Or you didn’t see the line? Maybe they were about to admit others in? Why get so bent out of shape when you can’t walk into a store before others who are already lined up to go in?

It’s been like that there for a couple years. Go easy on them. They get garbage inventory and also aren’t happy about it. Whenever they get anything decent, Belagio management takes it.

I think my last AD visit went about like that. I was at my GF's and she needed a couple of hours to work on something so I decided to visit the nearby AD.

"Do you have an appointment?"
"nope" (There was no line but a literal velvet rope)
"I'm sorry, you'll have to make an appointment"
"But there is literally no one in your store and I am actually a Rolex fan!" And showed her my watch.
"I'm sorry, you'll have to schedule an appointment"

Went to the other watch store and was treated well. Lots of chatting, trying on watches, no pressure. An enjoyable hour.

The casino was crowded and I did not notice the line.People were everywhere. Before I went to enter the store I was looking in the watchcases outside and I saw nobody enter. The lady said it would take about 20 minutes before anyone can enter. I would never just push myself in if others are waiting. Please get your facts straight before commenting like this. Thanks and have a great day.

I was wearing my DSSD blue last year when I tried to go inside the Rolex store in Miami. The lady opened the door and said they had no watches for sale and were too full to let me in. LOL.

Hey, I had to wait on line at the LV store in Vienna last summer, but I had a shopping list from the wife and had to do it.

Perhaps there was a line you did not see, or a group of customers with appointments, who were in the casino, otherwise occupied, until their appointment time. You made an assumption. My AD only sells Rolex watches, but sells other jewelry. I can get buzzed in, whenever they are open. I’ve always been able to try on watches, or talk to an SA. Different ADs have different rules. There is no need to get upset, about something you can’t control.

I'm at the Bellagio right now. It's stupid crazy here.

I may try to stop in mid-week if it's not busy, but would rather stop in at the one at Crystals. You can do PP, AP, RM all right there side by side.

What is your point? If you go see an escort, I'm pretty certain she services "one customer, 1, uno" at a time as well. Absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Correct,I did not see the line because there were so many people all over the place in the casino but only 1 person in the store. There was no assumption made. I was not upset. I just left.

Give the OP a break. The point he’s making, line or no line (queue in the uk!) there was only 1 person he could see in the store and neither he (nor others?) were allowed in.

A good buddy of mine is an assistant manager at WoS and whenever I am in town and mention I will drop by he asks me for a time so he can lock an appointment in. I got the impression all his clients book time to see him and the other sales people there. Time management perhaps, nothing personal. Heck he even asks to pencil me in lol.

Agree. This is a post Covid thing and it hacks me off as well. Any store could easily cater for a customer or two browsing but some of them don’t want to.

Some of the condescending comments on here have me shaking my head.

I don’t pop in to visit ADs anymore. That ship has sailed.

EDIT: Actually I did visit one AD on our trip over the winter holidays .. Bucherer in Lucerne. Actually had a fantastic experience and the sales associates were very accommodating

My comment above was directed more to ADs near my home. I visit my own from time to time, but I don’t pop in on others.

Arrogance takes its revenge sooner or later. This would never have happened at Hublot.

Been happening for at least 3 years at many locations. Maybe not at the one local to Lake Titicaca.

Not that it matters too much, but there is also a back area that is hidden from view at this AD. When I got my Rolex, I was back there for quite a while as I looked at the watch, then SA ran my credit card and then we had to remove links a few times for the right fit.

The rolex gas lighting is hilarious.
The world is burning down and sales people with no inventory for normal customers request you wait in line to enter the forbidden city.

Ahhh ok. It sounds like you are unaware of the past few years in major cities. Yes, for years, especially from late 2022 to early 2023, there were lines for Rolex, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Tiffany, etc at various 'more popular' locations.

As a small comment, we also have to remember security is also heightened nowadays in various countries (UK, USA, EU... for obvious and well-known reasons). So they may limit how many people are within the retail location. Maybe it was a VVVIP when you were there?

Have you tried Singapore or parts of the Middle-East yet? Think lines there nowadays are less than during 2022/2023, plus there's little to no worries about security unlike other countries. Plan a trip to Singapore would be my humble suggestion

PS: Did you try Watches Of Switzerland @ Wynn in Las Vegas? My wife and i have been there a few times and always have enjoyed incredible service. We knew Rolex was challenging to get, and so were looking at other brands while there. Can highly recommend H. Moser and MB&F if you're seeking something to help diversify your collection. Here' a pic from our most recent trip to WoS @ Wynn.

I visit AD's everywhere I vacation. The only time I was ever stopped from going in was this past Spring at WOS, Bond St, London; was told they were busy; looked inside with SA's standing about and not a single customer visible. On the other hand, at Harrod's the boutique SA and I had a wonderful conversation about watches in general. I also visited the Tudor boutique a floor below and was offered, but declined, the BB58 Harrod's edition.
