15xx Auto Reverser Confusion
15xx Auto Reverser Confusion
After the post about the pink wheels and the photo Al posted of an assembled auto wind, I looked at the pictures of the old parts from my 1560 auto wind and I noticed something odd. Are both these reversers below part number 7912? Are they both correct for a 15xx auto wind? From the pictures below, notice how they are different sizes. Could this have worked? Sorry about all the dust. I was in a hurry. Notice how the smaller one has 10 teeth (goes with Red wheel) and the larger one has 9 teeth (Goes with pink wheel): Al’s picture of an assembled auto wind got me thinking how these old parts of mine worked? Is there something amiss here? Here is Al’s photo: Thanks |

The pink larger ones are for the 15XX range of calibres. The darker red coloured ones are for the 3035 etc.. range of calibres. Are these fitted to a 15XX?
I have never seen anyone attempt to fit these to a 15XX. Never tried, do/did not even think its physically possible. |

Thanks Iron,
That is a good question. These are the old parts my watchmaker gave me back after the service of my 5512. The red one sure looks like a 5068 for a 3035 cal like you posted. I guess I need to ask. He did not say anything about mismatched parts. Thanks |
