Explorer II On Vacation

I finally got a chance to make use of the Explorer II's 24-hour hand (flying between states in the US doesn't count, a dual time zone watch isn't necessary to aid me with such simple mathematics, even with my simple little brain), taking my 216570 with me to Australia and New Zealand the past few weeks.

[For any TRF'ers living in these places - you're lucky to live in such a beautiful place.]

Laughing at me while I took wrist shots, my wife asked me whether I was bringing her on vacation or my watch. Foolish question...

Here she is (the Explorer) in Sydney...

...and in the Lord Of The Rings movie set in Matamata, New Zealand...

...and having a mug of ale at the Green Dragon...

...and finally relaxing on the deck of our cottage on the Coromandel Peninsula.

Travel is such a good reason to have an EXPII. (part of my rationale to my wife when I got mine a few months ago). I've had occasion to use the GMT in the states but like you said, that really doesn't count. I'm looking forward to true use later this year. Plans call for Ireland in July followed by Rome and Israel in late year.
