New coke tudor gmt or blackbay 54

Hi folks

Hope your all in good health.

Over the last several years, I've shown some interest in the tudor brand, but haven't really pulled the trigger. After the new release of
tudor gmt and the 54, I've decided to take the leap and get either one of them two on the rubber.

I've tried the 54 and the size and fit is so perfect. I've not seen the new tudor gmt in the flesh, but not a big fan of the gilt dial on the gmt, but need to see it in person.

I already have a rolex gmt blnr, submariner date, 116 black dial daytona, a couple.of datejust 41 and the new snoopy, but have never owned a tudor.

In your humble options which one would you prefer to add to your collections and why.

I would take the Coke over the BB54. And I’m surprised how many people don’t like gilt on their watches. I’ve never seen such dismay or controversy over gilt before the release of the new Tudor Coke.

My personal choice would be the new BB58 Coke GMT. Have seen it at the AD but it was already spoken for. Stunning watch in person.

While I appreciate the 54, it’s too small for a sport diver style watch, and plain black bezels are bland to me

Ha! I said the same thing a couple days after release. I think the gilt makes the watch.

I would choose BB58 Coke GMT. The 39mm is the perfect size. In my opinion 54 is too small

Awful gilt on the GMT. They ruined the watch for many. YMMV.

If I had the BLNR and the Submariner, I wouldn't be considering either of those Tudors. But I don't have the BLNR or the Submariner, so I have in fact been considering both Tudors. I've tried on the BB54; it fit great and I really liked the understated look. I almost bought it on the spot, but I'm glad I waited, because the BB58 GMT looks even better in photos IMO. However, I would need to see the GMT in person - which I hope to do soon. I expect I will prefer the GMT, but I won't know that for sure until I see it and try it on.

54 for me. It’s one I intend to purchase down the line.

Interesting I heard May for them to arrive. Maybe my AD lying to me

Bb54! That new GMT might sway you in the metal though.

The 54 dial narration is gilt also. So, if you are not a fan of the gilt, I’d avoid the 54 too, especially as the bezel narration doesn’t match.

I think the original BB58 gilt dial and bezel gives it a lot of warmth, that I really like. I’m anticipating that the new BB58 GMT will have the same feel. The 54 just looks completely mismatched to me.

I doubt they are lying to you. Not all the ADs necessarily have them in. Good luck. There’s already a long list. Personally, I don’t mind waiting a year or two. But that’s because I’m waiting for Tudor to release something else

In a head to head competition the BB GMT beats the BB54, but with your collection with a Daytona, Sub Date, and BLNR, I suggest you add the BB54.

I have a similar collection (batgirl, 116600 SD4k, 116520 black) and just added a BB54 and adore it. At this point in collecting, I prefer to add watches that are easy to set and comfortable to wear. This watch hits the high marks on both. It’s low key and light, legible and simple.

If, however, you travel frequently to places the BLNR isn’t welcome, grab the GMT.
It’ll relieve stress while traveling , or at least it does for me.
