Which car should I get??

Hello all, I am 16 soon to be 17 years old. My parents have decided that they are going to buy me a car. I have narrowed it down to about 4 or 5 cars.
2014 BMW M3

2014 land rover range rover sport hse

2014 Mercedes e550

2014 Mercedes c63 amg

I do live in a north Chicago suburb so awd would be helpful in the snow, but I have driven a rwd car in snow before and it isn't a big deal as the streets are cleared pretty quickly. As far as these cars go any experiences with these??
Do you have any others to offer?
I would prefer new, or barely used.
Max to be spent is about 80k.

(If it was up to me I would spend about 50 on a car and 30 on a watch. My parents don't share a passion for watches that I do!)
Thanks all!

I agree at 16 no real need for a 80k car. But I'm not one to talk because I don't have that kind of money to get me a car like that let alone my kids.

The day my daughter talks about an M BMW, S Audi or AMG Mercedes at the age of 17 she can walk forever . . .

First learn how to drive a car

So she can have a Tahoe / Suburban or sort like

Good friends of mine - really car freaks and have a 35 something Ferrari collection sans their other cars - bought a 911 for their son when he turned 18 in Belgium

The story lasted almost 5 weeks . . .

Was one of the saddest days . . .

And to be honest I still need to see the first US citizen who can drive a car . . .

Even if you drive defensive . . . the rest think they are racers . . . going left and right all the time . . . blinkers not necessary . . . and than they save at least 5 minutes . . . if they are lucky . . . a day . . .

Probably there's only one here on TRF who can drive a car seriously. . . . Dr Veins ;)

Maybe old fashioned of me but that's the way it will go at my place

Just my .02

Cars are so pedestrian. Forget about that and just buy a Gulfstream.

Porsche 911 S. Or if they are generous, a 911 Turbo.

Ugh...

I was fortunate to have my parents buy me a car at 16. It was around $8,000 and had no air conditioning, radio, hub caps, or power steering/windows/locks. I loved it.

Ultimately the choice is yours. I'd choose the most reliable and safe in the bunch. You're a lucky kid.

I also grew up on the north shore of Chicago and sadly there are parents who will buy their kids $80K cars when they turn 16 (no offense to OP), so I know where he's coming from. I actually had to work to buy my first car and subsequent cars too.

That said, I'd pass on an M3 or C63, you'll hate a high HP/RWD car in the winter or rain. Even the slightest bit of snow or ice and you'll be all over the road and rain isn't much better.

Can't go wrong with a Range Rover but you'll look like a soccer mom, not a kid in HS, but superchaged RR sport is prob more in dad's budget anyway. What about a Nissan GTR or an Audi RS5?

At your age, I had a 1982 Honda accord that I bought for $800 from my pay at jack in the box...but if my rents were going to buy me a car from that list, id say C63...now that im 30...I think you should get the range rover. Its safe, awd (good for rain and snow) and doesn't have so much power that youll be tempted to smoke all the rustangs at your high school.

Is this a poe?

I've just seen the other threads about bling/private jets etc.

They've not got enough cash for a $25 pledge, junior?

Consider yourself lucky that your parents are willing to buy you a car. If it were me and I lived in the Chicago area, I would go for the Audi RS5.

If you are set on only those in your original post, the next in line would be the M3.

Good luck with your decision and post pics of the eventual winner!

MB sure is making some ugly cars compared to the rest of the German manufacturers. I'd buy an Audi S5 or RS5 if I was in your shoes.

C63, u dont have kids so why bother with a slow barge. Bag the coupe. Without the worry of paying for a car you can buy yourself some watches instead. A very privalaged position to be in, make the most of it.

I have already been driving for a year, plus I have taken a few race school classes. Trust me I could easily handle a c63. I have been driving a c300 for the past year

They bought it a year ago for me, but we decided to give it to my sister and I would get a different one.

Ok, well I'm a BMW fan so go for the M3
Or for something a little different take a look at Alpina

But as Paul suggested, perhaps pony up the $25 for a pledge membership here as well?
