Masters tickets - buying experience

Hi everyone

What has been everyone's experience in buying Masters tickets in the past through scalpers, etc? Seems that the most reliable is Stubhub but not sure of any other avenues.

We are thinking of driving down and taking a chance and buying them on the street which I've heard is hit or miss.

Went down in 2017 and the itch to go back is real this year.

Any input would be awesome.

Thanks

If I were driving down from our home and native land I’d want to have tickets in advance, otherwise there’s not much to do in Augusta

“Not much” is an over statement. There is nothing to do in Augusta.

And a few chemical plants. Pretty exciting stuff.

Sounds like a massive gamble, especially if a 20hr+ drive is involved. Whether or not an International House of Pancakes or Waffle House suit your taste buds, without a local "plug" or "hook up," I wouldn't roll the dice on something like that... not unless I had a viable backup plan like spend a week at the beach or exploring Savannah.

Bad bet. Get tics in hand or don't go.

Sounds like a gamble with no tickets and as others have mentioned not much to do around town. Not been for a long time but it’s obviously not changed

I have coworkers who have been trying to get tickets for 30 years, and the best they've ever gotten is the chance to buy practice round tickets. It really is the toughest ticket in all of sports to get.

I wanted to go to the 2004 Masters as a day trip from a family vacation in Hilton Head. I went online and found practice round tickets for $250-$300. A coworker, and past attendee, advised me to just drive over and buy them on the street as they were “plentiful”. So, on the Monday of Masters week I drove the 2-1/2 hours to Augusta. I bought a ticket for $40 and I could have bought as many as I wanted.
Since that time (2004) I’ve applied for tickets every year and never been selected.
