You have to admit, to the casual observer, the case, bracelet, clasp, dial & crystal on the 14060M look like they could be found on a Rolex of the mid 1980s... & again for the right buyer this is a good thing. There are quiet a few company's re manufacturing brand new "Old" muscle cars/hot rods & buyers are paying big bucks for them... the 14060m is a factory new "old style" Rolex...

Agreed the 14060M is more of a niche product than the rest of the current line up. The main difference to your car analogy is that the sub isn't some retro reproduction; it's the current incarnation of a watch that has been in production since the fifties. It also doesn't retail at a premium over the sub date in the process; the reverse in fact.

Sub C if you want the upgrades... I still love the ND on a black NATO though...

My first was a 14060, and it is on my wrist at the moment. However, I discovered I REALLY needed a date sometimes due to a brain malfunction that refuses to remember the calendar, so I bought a Sub-C too. I now wear the Sub-C to work, when I need the date, and the 14060 almost everywhere else. They are both great! I did not even CONSIDER trading my 14060 for the Sub-C!

There are serious plusses to both models, and I still prefer the bracelet on the 14060. You've made a wise choice, but be warned - once you've got one, they start making you want another, and then another...and the people on this forum are not boosters for fiscal restraint when it comes to Rolex!

Two completely different watches.
Nothing feminine about the 14060M.

Agreed - not the watch, but some of the contours of the metallurgy are more 'curvy' than that of the 116610 (e.g. the lugs and the crown guard). So, when I say the lines are more feminine, that's what I am referring to, not the overall watch.

Never owned a No Date but the new 4 Line Sub No Date is an instant classic. Love it...and will get one to add to my LV soon.

4 or 2 line both nice.... the 2 line seems a bit more unique compared to the date subs & sea dwellers, accentuating the clean dial for just that xtra bit....imho

I understand that opinion... I've just always had Sub Date(s) so that 2 line looks too plain or dare I admit too "clean"!

the other way to look at it is a chronometer rated ND is much more rare than a 2-liner...just relative to other ND's...

at first, i preferred the 2 line....now, i kind of like how its sort of a throwback to the 5512

well said.

when i bought my first sub, i didn't understand the draw to the 2 line or the "red sub" (my good friend had) with that darn scratched up crystal ... i didn't get that then either, tastes change

Not sure where your data cones from re mores service requirement for a hairspring.

FYI the movement in the sub data has changed very very little

Welcome and good luck.
about your opinion of it being hard getting a discount, were you referring to both date and no-date? I've also heard that whether or not you can get a discount also depends on where you are in the country. I'm currently on vacation in HI and the AD (ben bridges) is telling me that they cannot give any discount on any SS sport models.

Hi Guys

I got the 14060M yesterday and i love it.
It fits perfectly and I am thrilled with it.

It is a beautiful watch. I love simplicity of it.
The AD was very patient and helpful.

No discount but I did get $300 for tag that i never wore because i love rolex.

Thanks for sharing your experience and opinions.

Best

Get the Sub-C. More attractive, more modern, more advanced And it has a date too...
Hi Sir,

I was wondering how this configuration is still doing !?
I mean is the half link strong enuff for use as a full link.

Thanks for feedback.

Excellent choice!! I'm looking for one myself. Wearing on a NATO looks great and is very comfortable to wear aswell so who cares about the bracelet??

Enjoy!
